Great video. One of the best things I learned here long time ago was to sidechain reverb and delay to the vocal in different channels, you can even apply 2 or 3 different reverbs and delays in different channels and then make different effects through the song with automation.

Wow, you uploaded right on time when im having problems with mixing my vocals bcoz it sounds too boxy, and i suspect either EQ problems or my heavy use of reverb. Im even using your recent video "mixing vocals autotune trap" for reference!

This is amazing, never knew about this side chain method. I’ve always Done the side chains individually on Delay and reverb

Educational. Thank you. Perhaps the most important thing is to do the EQ first on your dry track, then use a reverb that can do pre-delay. 100 milliseconds makes such a difference to create a natural effect.

I don't use stems or sidechains. I duplicate the EQ'd/otherwise dry track and put the effects on the copy, including EQing the wet track. If I want to add the "dirty dynamic" element, I can push the make-up on the compression a little bit. I can control everything and mix it back in by balancing the volume and pan. It's very simple and it works.

Someone mentions automation. In my DAW (Reaper) this involves a second track and it's a touch "faffy". I just open another track and split the item to drop the bit-I-want-to-effect to the new track. It's easier then to pan things.

Hi Max, I bought your mini-course of the 1, 000 tips for 21 dollars, but it's 200 tips in general, and the second thing is that it's for Ableton and not for Fl Studio, please answer me 🙏🏻

I think the best way to send your signal to FX Channels would be to use the Fruity Send Plugin after sidechaining your track to the different FX Channels. You get way more flexibility and ease in automating your Reverbs and Delays and can also Solo them without needing to unroute your Vocal Channel with the Mix Bus .

I have two ways of doing reverb and delay, either through a send channel that I mix in parallel or a bounced wav file of the wet reverb signal that I mix in with the original signal
