Thanks for a beautiful video! I'm a 52 year old grandma in the UK, Since my partner died I now only live in a second floor tiny little flat(apartment), no balcony, no garden. So last November I decided to get an allotment, As I don't work due to health issues I have to rely on state benefits, so money is limited. However, my allotment only costs me £52 a year, I've got potatoes, leeks, carrots, parsnips, cabbage, sprouts, chillies, lettuce, raspberries, blackberries going on..the tomatoes are getting planted this week, so there's lots to do! I didnt know the first thing about gardening, but I'm learning each day!, now one of my daughters has got the message and shes starting to use her small garden to grow things. We can do this guys!👍👍👍💖

I’m a widowed 64 yo woman, started garden last year, didn’t do too well, got root rot!! Over winter (Florida so not much winter here) tried to fix soil then tarped it!! Planted on tomatoes and collards(for root cover)!! I have a pet rabbit so that’s free also!! Pray for me. I do it all sitting cuz my heart can’t take standing and raking etc makes me dizzy. Sorry for long post. Wanted to say this earlier but I didn’t know if I could!!’ Thanks for all the advice. Ps I have two gardens this year!! Go big or go home right!!! Love you guys !!

Yes prepare, prepare and prepare. “We come from the earth, we return to the earth, and in between we garden.” Many blessings to y’all from our homestead to yours.

Garden, canning, dehydrating, fermenting. Chickens for eggs and meat. This year I'm planning on hatching several rounds of my dual purpose chicks for meat. Just starting with rabbits hoping for some litters in a couple weeks. Stocking lots of rice, pasta, beans and canned meats and other canned items. Stocking vitamins, medical supplies toiletries and cleaning supplies. Learning as much as I can . I have some books on homesteading and herbs, wild edibles. Also getting in better physical health

Thank you Colby!!! Excellent message! Those whom I’ve revealed my put back supplies to over the past 25 years have called me PARANOID, HORDER and PREPPER with disgust. Now in fear of what’s to come they ask questions in earnest.
Please remember. To whom much is given much is required. Those who know how should teach others and those who have should help and support and even feed others in the tough times to come. Put back for others in need. In the days to come the hungry, ! Support your close in community. No man is an island. We need others in our lives to work together to mitigate the needy, to grow more and to share with those who have none.
Please pray for these things, and God will provide.

Yes, I am prepping. I live in Myrtle beach in a hoa development and I have raised beds with hoops to cover them when needed. The hoa has not and should not say anything to me about my raised beds because everyone has raised beds, I just happen to have veggies and flowers in mine. My neighbor across the street gave me a funny look when I said the hoop houses look good don’t they? So I actually created a very large pollinator garden with evergreens, a lattice wall, a avocado tree, a soft needle holly and many native flowers. When the trees mature, I guarantee he will not see my hoop houses. Plus I added grape arbors ( more camouflage, a row of blueberries, and managed to add a large ( for me) 20 x 15 foot garden bed in between the camouflage garden and the hoop houses. So all people will see are the front flower beds. My other neighbors love watching me plant and ask all the time what I’m growing. I even included a seating area surrounded by the lattice and new garden. It looks cool.

Been canning for 50 years, but have stepped up from past years to provide for when we can't garden as much. Raising chickens for meat and eggs, getting set up for rabbits for meat and extra fertilizer. My stocked pantry has seen us through many hard times and I've always tried to keep it stocked back up during the lean years. Love watching young people learning what I was taught as a child! Keep up the good work and God bless you all for what you teach!

He is correct about getting started now, there is a big learning curve in gardening, P.H. of the soil, drip lines vs. overhead watering, bug control, plant diseases, what varieties do best in your area and lastly the up front cost of getting started in any kind of scale can get expensive depending on your situation, but the key is getting started and yes it's work if you get serious, I now manage 2 separate gardens on different properties my own and a 72 yr. old widow that just can't get off the couch, she just doesn't see the reality that's coming !

A major reason to garden when you HAVE food is because it is hard. Make your mistakes and learn to garden when there are alternatives. Been gardening hard for almost 50 of my 60 years on this planet. My wife is a master gardener who is a lifetime gardener. We still experience failures. Buy seeds and then go buy extra seeds. I could go on about the importance of chickens and rabbits, but I think you covered it well.

Hi, i live in west Michigan. I also live in a trailer park. I just got permission to make raised beds. I told them its eather that or buckets. So in a couple days i going to be building my beds. I all ready have veggies growing in peat pots. So when the beds are done i can plant. I have to do it in backwards steps. I'm disabled. That doesn't mean i can't do anything, just means it takes me alittle longer. So i kinda do things backwards. No time to waste, lol. Your givin good info. You just get through those stuburn people that dont believe these hard times are here and going to be getting worse. Say you have a great day. And may the good Lord be with you and walk beside you each and every day.

On my patio I grow 4-6 tomatoes, 2 types of blueberries, 1- red raspberry & 1- blackberry plants, Chinese red lettuce, spinach, various herbs, dandelions, carrots, onions. I probably missed some things! This is a small patio. Don’t use growing bags, use pots - even an empty 5 gallon bucket will work as a planter.

I hesitantly bought seeds from 'The Dollar Tree'. They are from 'The American Seed Company' and were 4 packs for $1.They came up so now I have a small garden. Praying for the great people about to suffer this tragedy in America.

I agree with you all the way.I’ve been prepping since Covid came out.I had a very bad feeling about it here in our states.Just wish I had a partner that was on the same page as me, but he. Thinks I’m being over dramatic. We will see when everything is gone and can’t buy anything.I’m thinking of moving back home to NY and help my grown kids get ready for what ever is in for all of us.God Bless everyone and please be safe and Take Care.

Yes garden, garden, and garden. Get your seeds anywhere you can. I'm a single older lady that tries hard having a garden to help feed me. Get ready everybody.

Have been living this lifestyle for 40 years. I'm a city girl who married a farm boy who moved me to the country. Had to garden and preserve because we had to feed 4 kids. It has taken us years to get to where we are today with a mini farm, a few beef cattle, 30 chickens, etc. Always learning and improving. Just today put up 12 pints of chicken thighs I found on sale. Have been concentrating on increasing my proteins, milks and items like flour, sugar, salt, etc. that I have to purchase. When Covid hit (I worked in healthcare) it was not problem at our house, I just went to my supplies and got out my sanitizer and masks and gloves and we of course had plenty of toilet paper. LOL. The first thing I told everyone was you need to start growing a garden. This was April 2020... unfortunately not many people listen. They see the shortages and they like to complain about it and about the prices rather than do the work. I'm afraid things could get pretty ugly. Love the video. Prayers for all of us.

We’re growing twice as much as we did last year. And this year we added several blueberry bushes and doubling up on what we grew last year 👍🏻
