Kadour Ziani sparked my interest in these videos about 15 years ago. He's 5'11" and can dunk from the free throw line. Not sure about now but at his prime he was considered one of the best dunkers.

Hats off to a dunk at 47. I’m 5’10 and had about a 38 inch vertical. I had the glutes by nature and nurture, but there are a lot of mechanics involved. Also, I had above average core strength. I felt like I was throwing my upper body into the air. I’m 60 and jumping is what I miss the most about my youth. Every once in a while I have a dream about being in a game and I feel like I’m flying again.

Jump height has some utility in the game but it can also spell doom.A slight bump mid flight and its a major spill.I've seen torn knee ligaments or achilles heel smashed too.Nonetheless, those are impressive athletic gifts.
