I've had a ton of fun with early access games. The game I've been playing with my bro for the past I dunno like 5-6 years is 7daystodie, we go back to it every 1 or 2 big updates, usually once a year and we always have a blast (we usually rent a server for a month for us to play on and stop playing after a month). :D
As far as early access developers go - communication with people is critical.

Loved the take on this, the internet loves to beat on the early access games but to be honest the games I've played the most and that stuck around the most on my hdd have either been early access or games that have been in constant development. There are some exceptions of course, PUBG fix your shit already!
