Hey, so as the JEE Mains is at the corner now, I know that a lot of you would be having so many doubts in the head. Some of you might be exhausted and may be thinking if all the work that you put in would be worth it or now. So, here's the answer. I invited 3 members, a student at IIT Delhi, a 2020 graduate at IIT Roorkee and a 2012 Graduate from IIT Kharagpur, to cover the entire spectrum of life and asked them the question. Is IIT Worth it??

My elder brother is from a very average college(passed out of college in 6 yrs) from hyderabad but the reason he is earning 80 LPA at age 30 is because of the knowledge and skill he has developed in his stream all these years in all subjects outside cse too, yes IIT will give you a major boost in your career but don't lose hope and make it a life and death situation your career and life is too big and JEE prep is just a phase just focus on what actually matters!!

Myself from a medical background.
You will see 70-80% medicos regretting taking up mbbs.
Our income will touch 30LPA only after 14years of studies (mbbs+pg+super speciality) at 34 yrs of age
While iitians will start earning so much at the age of 25 itself!!
So I will say iit is worth it than any other academic field!!

Ofcourse it's worth it for those who make it. But at the same time, we must understand that their is a spectrum of success. While there are a few thousand who make it, there are a few thousand who break under the pressure and suicide. And there are lacks more in the middle. A lot of them work hard, go through the pressure, but still don't make it.
You should ask them too - was it all worth it?

It's no longer about if IITs are worth it cuz they are the most prestigious uni but i ask myself a lot if I've got that potential to crack this exam. It's not about hardwork but cognitive thinking, conceptual clarity, pace in solving numericals and all that which matter a lot, I don't see myself with any of these. That keeps myself exhausted and makes me lose all of the hope I've got. (P.S. just a random aspirant ranting)
