We're often told how capitalism empowers freedom and individuality. However, what if I told you that it may also have the opposite effect? In today's oral, I would like to discuss the global issue that capitalism leads to a loss of identity, which still affects many people today. To illustrate this issue, I will analyze two works: Franz Kafka's literary text, "Metamorphosis, " published in 1915, and Bong Joon Ho's film, "Parasite, " released in 2019. I will first examine Kafka's portrayal of the destruction of family relationships caused by capitalism as a whole and then analyze a passage from page 69.
