From 2:58 to the end is actually one of my favorite parts. The amazing guitar along with the sound of thunder. So unbelievably bad ass.

When I was a really, really little kid, before I ever even knew what this song was about, I loved it. Every time there would be a thunderstorm, I would ask my dad to play it for me on his sound system (this was in the 90's - so like an 80's/90's style system), open all the windows and doors, so we could listen to it on the porch together with my mom and little brother. One of my favorite childhood memories. As an adult, the lyrics hit home in a way no other song can. The guitar and thunder still gives me chills to this day. This will always be one of my favorite songs.

I used to work summers as a fire lookout in Northeast California. The first time I ever heard this song, was from the top of that mountain, during a thunderstorm. (It's incredible the reception a cheap radio used to get on a mountain top) I'll never forget it

Growing up in the North of Ireland at the hight of the troubles when the bombs and bullets were flying country music was not just my guilty pleasure but my escape. 🇺🇸✌️🇮🇪

Remember growing up to Brooks and Dunn, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Shania Twain, songs that literally burn a hole in your heart, in your mind. You'll find yourself in the middle of losing your conscious thought and the track will just roll into your head, like rolling thunder.

When I'm listening to country radio in my car and I hear that guitar and thunder, I get goose bumps every time.

I like how there's a deep symbolic meaning of how The Thunder Rolls is a sign of impending danger and chaos, not just in nature, but in people in situations like this.

Does anyone remember the concert during his world tour in the early 90s when he would perform this song and it would rain in the arena? That was SO COOL! And he flew around the arena too! AND the stage would catch fire and he would just walk through it. Garth was such a rockstar.

I’m not one for country music but man, this song has always held a special place for me. Masterpiece.

Still listening to this song. As a little girl, my dad would play this song every time we went in the car wash. Weird memory but one I will never forget

It's SO hard to find the real Garth. If you know the originals though you KNOW how it's supposed to sound. 😏

My parents use to play this on a surround sound system with the big ol' floor speakers. As a kid, hearing the intro would always scare the shit outta me. Now that I'm older, I've fell in love this song ♥️⛈️ Thank you for the original version!

"And he know that she knows..." That line gives me chills every time. Man, I've never been cheated on, but I can only imagine that kind of betrayal from the person you're supposed to trust the most is whole different level of pain..
