When Garth himself comes out and says he absolutely loves the cover and wishes he “had the balls to do it like that”, you know they nailed it.

As a country and Garth Brooks fan as well as a fan of most rock I greatly appreciate this cover. It's extremely well done and pays respect to the original.

Imagine being at a concert….lights go down….crowd quiets after cheering….guitar riff just starts, quietly, eerily…thunder in the background….no words, just ominous, painful, eerie music….then suddenly you hear the lead sing “And The thunder rolls…” then the ultimate build up to the big down beat at the end of verse 1 as the lights flash with thunder and the stage is illuminated with fog showing the band ready to rock ours brains out. That’s the concert I want to attend!

Guys.... from a hardcore Garth fan, I have no words. I'll try though. First, the mix of country and metal was seamless. Perfect. Just right. Neither was over done.

No screaming metal re-interpretation. Lyrics had just that slight bit more of an edge to match the instrumentals. Kind of like when Seether did a cover of "Careless Whisper", but they toughened it up and made it more epic. That's what you did here.

But then....OMG, y'all did the third verse, (which no one seems to know about when I bring it up) with a matching video to give the full experience. Seeing her pull the rounds and place them on the dresser, implying she was loading the weapon. The confrontation between the two of them in the doorway. The muzzle flash against the door, "...the thunder rolls, and the lightning strikes" represented as a visual. All that. BRAVO!! Best cover on the internet!

2:33-2:34, when the guitar an the drums hit those 3 times together, man that's almost enough to send chills up your spine

OK, adding the last version made this the best version ever. I can really get behind a band that REALLY listens to its fans. Thank you guys for this, it is fantastic!!!

As someone who grew up with Garth Brooks and had a deep love of country music as a child to a grown up with a deep love of metal, this is a great cover.

Being a purest when it comes to anything Garth Brooks, I wasn't sure what I would think of this. Y'all did it justice in a way that no one else has been able to manage! While you took it "rock" you kept the original feel of the song. Absolutely love this!!!

Something about the 3rd verse of this song just makes it better

Pure excellence. This song is never truly complete without the third verse. Everything in the song is leading up to it because when “the lightning flashes in her eyes” and she “reaches for the pistol tucked in the dresser drawer” only then had the storm truly hit them. I didn’t think I could love this song any more than I already did but here we are. Love everything about this cover.

The last verse is essential...."tonight will be the last time she'll wonder where he'd been." One of the best country songs of all time written by Brooks and Alger.

This is I think the best cover of this song I’ve ever heard. It actually might be the best version period.

God it's good to hear someone actually use the third verse! Adds so much to the song, and this version does it so damn well.
