Malabsorption is a huge, scary topic that comes up a lot in the IBS, SIBO, and IBD world. But, how can you tell if you have malabsorption? And how do you treat it? Is there something else that might be going on rather than malabsorption? If so, how do we tell those things apart? Well, have no fear, my friend. Because this video will answer all of these questions ;)

Yes! Please do videos on malnutrition and maldigestion. I took your advice and tried tracking my food on cronometer for a few days and discovered some holes in nutrients, it was very eye opening. Would love to learn more!

My daughter had a very bad case of gastroenteritis and over the course of a year she developed abdominal bloating, severe constipation and gradually started losing weight despite eating the same balanced diet. She lost over 10kg and was losing chunks of hair. Blood tests indicated her ferritin levels had drastically reduced from a blood test she had taken 18 months earlier and required an iron infusion to address the issue. Subsequent breath tests indicated SIBO-C and a course of rifaxamin/flagyl (2 weeks) and prucalopride (prokinetic) for 18 months combined with a low fodmap/gluten free diet have resulted in her regaining the weight and her motility being restored.

Bacteria requires iron/nutrients to replicate so it would seem likely that the weight loss was caused by the bacteria overgrowth in my daughters case (she tested negative to celiac/Crohn's).

As I said, you've got a real gift for covering things the others of your genre don't - I don't remember seeing anyone else I follow cover this - and a natural talent for conveying the details! When I first figured out I had a histamine intolerance that was causing my asthma to get near-emergency status I thought it was a "bad thing, " but I've done so much good for my body and met great Healers like you in the process so how "bad" was it really, and now after 6 months I'm not intolerant of any food anymore so YAY all around! Who'd have guessed I'd be _thankful_ to have developed a health problem?!

Really enjoyed your video. Fun, informative and easy to understand. It aligns with the changes I have made to correct MA due to MD. I did also have to tweak my diet to remove all forms of gluten including corn, quenoia, rice, etc. thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge.❤

Can you do a video on rosacea? Its connection to the gut and how to heal. That would be awesome.

Yes more vids on the 3 Mals. I was diagnosed with Collagenous Colitis. I’ve had 2 positive SIBO (lactulose), and 2 negative (glucose). 1 positive EPI, 1 negative. Negative for Celiac by biopsy and blood test. I have chronic diarrhea, major weight loss, weight went from 112 to 83. Iron deficiency anemia. Had 3 infusions. Demineralized bones and osteoporosis. . I eat!!! No matter how many calories I can’t gain a lb. I’m on my 6th GI dr. Started me on Budesonide and had major allergic reaction. On 4th nutritionist. Doing another SIBO test. Have a FM dr. No one has been able to help with “malabsorption”. No guidance on leaky gut and microbiome. It’s maddening. I feel like I’m going to be checking out soon or fracture with osteoporosis. I’ve tried everything and spent over 10K. I’m at my wits end. I just want to gain weight.

Very good info. Yes please, I have been diagnosed with SIBO since 2017. Can’t seem to rid myself from this horrible disease. I believe I have MN and MD. Can’t seem to eat well, without getting stomach pain from the severe intestinal gasses. I have lost so much weight which is frightening to me. My lower stomach extends and feeing of trap gasses in my lower right side. A feeling of something there. ☹️ Please, would love to hear more on MN & MD. Thank you.
