Why do you need to identify the hot wire if the load and hot wire can be used on either terminal

I recommend when testing which one is hot and load, put a marrette on the 2 black wires, just to be a little safer. Again, never use the backstabs! Always make a hook and use the side screws.

Ok so we see where to connect the wires from the box but what about connecting the wires going to the light. I'm wondering if I put them in the side post with the hot wires aren't they touching and the switch is canceled out

in your video you say to mark the hot one, but then say to connect it to either terminal. why bother marking the hot one if it doesnt matter which terminal you connect the black wires to..

Be very careful with the switch do not twist them too much because they will break they break very easily
