Nick speaks the truth. I took out logo intros in the YouTube (desktop) editor, and retention went up on my videos. Also, I took out the end screens and that helped, too.
Nick and others have mentioned this a few times, but telegraphing the end of the video also makes people click out.
"The last thing I want to tell you...."
"Finally, let me tell you about...."
Phrases like this kill retention. So when filming, I avoid phrases like that.

Great info again. This is super helpful to even us noobs. I've been using the retention graph to cut out my intros and fluff where needed. Sometimes it leaves a bit of an audio hiccup but I think people get over that and suddenly get the goods more easily than they get over me boring them with my 'groovy' intro 😎👍
