You should be ashamed of yourself sir! Where is your apology to the residents, fire personnel, and general community for you being on private property of a resident and reporting a death before authorized or reported as well as escorting a civilian in illegally? Absolutely over stepping your boundaries as MEDIA. Sick. I am so proud of the siskiyou county sheriff department calling out your deplorable behavior for clout

Is this the film crew referred to as "the MEDIA" in a Siskiyou County Sheriff Department news release posted on Facebook about them being inside the evacuation zone without authorization? The report stated the area where two deceased bodies were found in a vehicle is considered a crime scene.

I am a retired Fire Chief out of Siskiyou County. If any officials see this and you need more help let me know and I will head that way. I pray my brothers and sisters stay safe and be careful.

I lost alot of respect for ABC News and this reporter.
Actions of the media were deplorable.
I truly hope the DA will file some sort of charges.

This video and the completely inappropriate, unprofessional behavior of the journalist has permanently damaged media access within wildfire perimeters.

100% ID check of all occupants of media vehicles will be the new normal and anyone without proper press credentials will not be permitted past checkpoints.

News personnel can now expect to be stopped and challenged and required to show press credentials on all law enforcement contacts both within and outside emergency zones.

There is now discussion of whether media will be permitted _any_ access to private property in the absence of proof of permission from the owner or resident.

Media policies that were previously liberal in allowing emergency services personnel to discuss their role are likely to be tightened to a "We are busy, please talk to a designated PIO at the incident base, goodbye now."

ABC News, the new media champions of f____ around and find out. This comment is a personal opinion.

Blatant disregard for the California Penal Code, shame on ABC News and Disney General Entertainment Content. I'm sure Matt Gutman didn't know any better, but his colleagues and supervisors should be reprimanded to the fullest extent.

I was listening to the scanner. I don't know who started it, but they had to request extra back-up from the Sheriff's office because of unruly transients.

There are 33 million acres of forest in of that is privately owned. 57% is Federally owned. 3% is State owned.
Should California firefighters just work on their 3%?

good job on finding the uncle. poor guy is as crisp as a bag of pork rinds . there’s toddlers on here complaining about this and that lol guys at least they found him! what the heck is the sheriff office doing? watching the flames go down? these people found a body within hours and he’s been there for who knows how many days. people only seem to jump on the bandwagon when someone starts stuff. the sheriff office is mad because they actually have to do work now. oh man they found a body. dang it. we have to work now. people need to realize the good and not just what people who try to deflect what is actually happening here. if there was nothing to hide then why freak out.

Why build homes where is hazardous. A win for the bank and the government, A lose for the home owners. 😅😀😂🤣😝😜

We depend upon our forests for cooling and regulating weather patterns. Largest this year is not just business as usual, it’s a tail spin to more of the same ol’ catastrophic disasters.

Does California do any control burns to clear out underbrush. Seems like it’s something most other states do to control forest fires.
