Heart Breathings - Episode 173

_____

About Me: My name is Sarra Cannon, and I've been indie publishing since 2010. In that time, I have published 26 books and sold well over half a million copies.

I've made some mistakes along the way, but I've also learned some valuable lessons that I think will help you reach your goals. I can't wait to help you learn to make money writing what you love.

Yay! Welcome back to another video. I'm so excited about this overall project, and I'm excited to take you along for the journey. Just think how exciting it will be a year from now to see all of this in place. What do you most hope to accomplish by the end of this year? Do you want to try to get ahead with me? Let me know in the comments!

I had to pause to comment: I think that's fascinating how you explained an ideal life. It's ever-changing I guess. I understand it as my ideal life will always change or go up in steps. That is amazing to see it that way, which I never have until now.

"Extremely multi-passionate." Yes. This so much. And I am so guilty of underestimating how long it takes me to do something and overestimating how much I can get done in a single day or week. Thank you for this video.

I used to feel overwhelmed all the time until the things I did weren't fun anymore. I found out that my need to push push push were based on not feeling good enough and some story I was telling myself about when I was allowed to feel good. It turned out that my goals were not feasible and decided to only do things that were joyful for a while. It taught me a lot! If I now feel that writing is not going to happen because I don't feel good, I choose something that does feel good. Although my book is going slower this way, I'm feeling much happier.

I love that word, multipassionate. That is SO me and why I’m perpetually behind in all things.

31:41 Thank you!!! You just used "Like I said" the way I always mean it. I repeat myself, and it's hereditary, apparently, because everyone in the family does it. (I must have heard my grandfather's possum hunting story three times if I heard it once, at least, but I listened and tried to pretend it was funny because that's how you showed respect to your elders.) But I got sassed the other day for using the expression. It was deemed "offensive" and apparently insinuated that the person I was talking to didn't understand the comment I was repeating (with the intention of adding more information that might be helpful). It's just a phrase I use ALL the time, even when talking to myself (next time, I'll try to remember to ask myself how I feel about that), and it just shows that I'm aware that I said it before (bonus points for remembering stuff). I found it ridiculously ironic that the person misunderstood my intention and was offended that I might think she didn't understand. Still trying to wrap my head around that one.... Add one more person I am not allowed to talk to.... :-|

I’m extremely multi-passionate as well and this video couldn’t have been presented to me at a better time. I have been so frustrated and this video just help me relax and just breath

This was a really beautiful video, Sara, and multi-passionate is so exactly the way I feel! I think I will make my three goals (1) write and publish my current novella (2) maintain my YouTube channel and (3) declutter my house BIG TIME! It’s so tempting to try to shoehorn in a 4th, but I think 3 is the right number. Can’t get too greedy!

It is so heartwarming and kind that you take the time to make these helpful videos. Giving people your time (which is basically your LIFE) is the best gift you can give. Just wanted to send blessings and gratitude to you for the way you enrich the world. Keep being awesome. ♥️

YES! I'm multi passionate too and it can feel overwhelming at times for sure. Also..may I suggest (since you use and love Google Drive) that you create your checklists for your processes in GoogleKeep -- you can check things off and then just go down to the bottom and say "Uncheck all items" and then start again. I use it for various flows that I have (social media/blog and some stuff for my clients as well).

I'm amazed that you do so much on your own and don't have a team in place already! Love this video. <3

This video is incredibly generous. I find myself exactly in the same place. I'm stepping away from the exhausting (for me) hamster wheel of write more books, write more books, to doing more with what I have. In my case, writing more books has not been the be all end all. I need systems and planning. And getting ahead to get more done. Thanks again, Sarra for continuing to inspire me!

I just wanted to say that 1. You’re up to 30k subscribers! Hooray! 2. You inspired me to get an A5 kikki.k planner. I got the same health and wellness one you got. Just waiting for it to be delivered. I’m so excited!!

I'm just coming it of a really hard period of struggle with a major depressive episode and anxiety. As I feel better, I am suddenly seeing all the things that I have neglected And feel completely overwhelmed and guilty about how I let things get so bad and what I need to do to get things straight.
This video was helpful. Thanks so much. 😘

Yes! I never give myself as much time as I'll actually need. I always want to believe it won't take me as long. And again, YES! I am multi-passionate too and it causes backup. Great video!

HB90 bootcamp and the planner/kanban system totally revolutionized my entire process - which is to say, now I have one 😂. Despite the utter derailment of The Virus, I’m still on track to publish my second book this year... which my pre-HB90 self would NEVER would have managed. I’m so looking forward to seeing how you go on with this project- more please! 🦄

HB90 is so worth the time and money! I’m so grateful I can go back and view the videos over and over! I can’t say I have it completely down yet, but I have incorporated many of the elements you teach. Thanks, Sarra!

I’ve spend so much time trying to get ahead... now I’m focusing on cutting. Even though I’m also multi passionate, the reality is that I have only so much time in a day and so much energy. I am learning to make peace with ‘it is what it is’. I show up. I focus. Etc. But it’s just not enough.
But I look forward to learn from you. Thank you for sharing so generously. You’re an inspiration.
