I always loved that we find out that K had been watching over J since he was a small child. Makes their partnership feel much more father to son than it was before. Remember how K would use MIB tech to watch over his old fling. Now imagine how often he would do that to check in on J and make sure he was doing alright. He probably had J pegged for the agency long before he came across Zed's desk.

If you think about it. its kinda weird that Wills focus is on his smaller self while it would make more sense to focus on his father laying dead on the sand.
Realising its your father would be more mind boggling than that you see your smaller self.
I try to imagin that he went to his fathers body and took a good goodbye.
