I'm a paleontologist. I remember, one time I was out in the prairies of Alberta (Canada) for university fieldwork to dig up dinosaur fossils. On one day, there was very torrential rain and we had to leave the dig site early on. To get back to the camp, we had to walk through an area that looked just like the background picture in this video. I remember there was a big stream we had to cross; one of the more experienced field technicians left to find an easy crossing point for the rest of us. So for some time, me and a few others were just standing around a bit, waiting for the guy to come back.
The rain kept pouring, the sky was becoming this increasingly murky grey colour. We were all quite cold and wet and miserable, but in some way, there was something almost... magical about the atmosphere. I miss it quite a bit, actually.
This video, the music and the background picture, reminds me of that short moment where everything was dark, grey, cold, weird and magical. A beautiful trip down memory lane. Thank you so much for this.

I’ve always been sad. This empty feeling inside and you feel it even when your laughing with friends and family, but you got so used to it that it’s a part of you and you know it will always be there. It’s not a sadness that completely takes over but sometimes I can just sit alone in silence and that’s when you really feel it. This emptiness that you carry with you but it has become a comfort. This sound reminds me of this sadness I have inside forever.

The whole of my childhood was spent living deep in nature. No other people, cities or buildings. A dirt road, a hill full of trees, a stream wrapping around our yard, and across, was an open field illuminated with hundreds of fireflies, begging to be run through. It always smelled of fresh rain. And the sound of cicadas and frogs sang every evening.
Since I've had to move, away from it all, I haven't felt that I've been alive.
I feel like my spirit is still there waiting for me to come home and live again.
And the time my body has left is being wasted. I just wanna go home.

Not necessarily depressed, but sometimes I'll get a severe, debilitating anxiety rush that has me crying uncontrollably from random thoughts. Sometimes from things I haven't even thought about in years. Sometimes I feel as though something/or someone is in the house with me while I am alone and - now this is just getting plain scary. Thankfully videos like these exist!

I sometimes drive to work listening to these playlists in the early hours of the morning, ideas are born just from the ambience, or from the music, or often both. These videos remind me when I am at my lowest, that yes I have my moments of suffering, my weeks of gloom, that even still- I am an artist. I create, even when my pen does not touch paper. I create when an idea rushes to the front of my brain while I am making coffee, when a stanza of poetry is born out of pain. Your channel reminds me of the beauty in the small things, the way rolling waves can bring you back to earth, when you are convinced you are lost in space. I long to live in these playlists, in these little worlds you create with music, with sound. That is what an artist does, they create. Here's to you, from one artist to another.
