Want to experience local culture through food? In this YouTube #shorts, learn to make Spanakopita with Epi in Chania, Crete.

Spanakopita is a Greek savory spinach pie made with fresh spinach, onions and feta cheese. The phyllo dough covers the pie, and black and white sesame seeds are added on top.

The pie is then drizzled with cretan olive oil before being baked in the oven for 40 mins at 200C (about 400F).

Located at 15 Anapafseos Street in Chania, Crete, Epi is a traditional shop that prepares daily local Cretan delicacies with fresh ingredients.

We tried their homemade Kalitsounia, sfakian pies, bouraki and lamb pie and all were sumptuously delicious.

At their store, you can also find other local products like thyme honey, tsikoudia or raki, graviera cheese from local producers.
