This is the reason why Frieza is needed for the U7 team. His devious nature and tactics added extra depth to the Z fighters and they need him to take out other dirty and unscrupulous fighters. Frieza was very observant throughout helping the Z fighters in his own way and he actually helped to clear the blind spots which Goku and the others did not notice.

Gohan was smart enough to see through Frieza ploy. When Frieza attacked Gohan, Frieza was dropping a hint to Gohan to play along with him with that facial expression.

Underrated part of this I don’t see anyone else talk about is how Frieza’s voice gets raspier and deeper with his transformation. It explains a lot because I always found his full power voice to sound weird when I was younger.

I noticed a TINY tone shift in Frieza's voice as he gone buff, a small easter egg of him after transforming into 2nd form during the Namek saga, but a tad bummer Frost didn't get his voice tone shift as he went buff too

Overall, Frieza is indeed careful of his tactics, then strike the last moment an open is shown to break his foe's morale, even among allies if need be
