Guys the clip from 2011 just shows how stressed he was on stage. Stop criticizing him he is such a good singer.

he sounds like he’s singing his heart out in both versions

Dude can sing. And as a fan of Lots of music and genres over decades, it’s genuinely one of my favorite songs ever.

Not an easy song to sing. He wrote it. He sang it. He smashed it. Bloody well done Gotye.

I could’ve swore he went falsetto on the word “happened” but here he is going full voice on both. Fantastic singers in this band. Pretty brilliant.

His voice got so much stronger, to the point where his one back then sounds super husky in comparison

The fact the man doesn’t need auto tune and yet he still sounds the same is amazing

I actually was stunned by how damn great singer he became. Steve tyler on x factor said that you just have to sing 5-10 years in bars and that is how you learn to sing great. Stadiums help too, it seams...

“Somebody That I Used To Know” is one of very few pop songs that has stuck with me.
I now listen to a lot more metal, but that song did everything right. Something about it just keeps me going back for more.

I'll tell you what, even though he isn't the most popular, or the best(controversial??), he's up there and this song is still one of the best
