I always think it's funny how bonsai is basically doing everything you're taught not to do with normal trees. You dont have to worry about structural integrity when the tree is 2 ft tall.

My grandpa was a bonsai master. He had incredible trees and the garden was really a joy to visit and tour. It's also a very consuming hobby though. He could never go out of town at all!
