What was Gobekli Tepe?

Since Gobekli Tepe was founded in the late 20th century, people have tried to understand its purpose. Many theories have been proposed as to its purpose, from an ancient temple to an alien structure. But maybe Gobekli Tepe’s purpose is not as difficult to understand as most think. The structure of Gobekli Tepe raises many questions: We have a 14,000-year-old structure that is considered the oldest archaeological structure ever found, proving an intelligent civilization. This structure was not damaged by an earthquake or abandoned but was buried in perfect condition. This is very unusual compared to the other archaeological findings since most big ancient ruins, like Gobekli Tepe, were mostly damaged.

1. So why would such a large and detailed structure be buried?
2. We have a circular structure with a sealed hall inside. This is also very unusual because if it was a temple, why is there no access point to the main hall?
3. We have huge pillars decorated with animal carvings, mainly in sealed areas. Why would a temple be built with carvings of tens of different animals? Most of these animals were not even local but were thought to be living in very far regions at those times.
4. Why do multiple layers surround it? Why isn’t there only one exterior wall?
5. Why are some storage areas outside the structure with animal carvings on their entrance?
6. Why is it built on a hill and not in a lower place, which would make it much easier to transport materials and animals?

The answer to these and many other questions may be very simple: Gobekli Tepe might be an ancient shipyard and launch area for a vessel for animals and humans. This theory would answer all the questions easily.

First, the structure was not damaged because when it was still in perfect condition, it was buried under mud carried by the flood. The main hall inside was protecting large pillars to support the vessel. This was to provide clearance for launching.

If the ship was launched at a lower water level, it could be demolished by hitting rocks and trees, so it had to start floating at a high point. Considering the power of the flood, a door would be difficult to seal, so a unique, closed structure would be a better option. The vessel was built and placed on the pillars, using them like keel blocks used in modern ship construction. They had to have enough clearance from the rising water. The animals were loaded via wooden ramps and ladders that would float and get detached after the boat was loaded.

We do not have proof that people could read and write in those days. Even if they could, carvings would be a universal language for people during a flood, and they would know exactly where to load which animals. The images on the pillars showing multiple layers of animals might be showing the layers inside the ship. Since wild animals had to be separated from each other, they had to be stored in different locations inside the ship.

The caves with animal carvings outside the structure held pens where animals were stabled before the flood. It was built on a high hill to protect from rising water levels. When we look at ancient civilizations and the earth’s structure, we see evidence of a great flood that matches the time that Gobekli Tepe was built. So the flood was predicted long before it happened. People prepared for it. They stored the animals in caves and built the vessel on the pillars, using them as keel blocks. When the rain started and water levels rose, they herded all animals inside the structure and sealed the door. This helped move the animals to the dedicated storage spaces and prepare the vessel to sail. When the animals and people boarded the vessel, the hatches were sealed, and they waited for the water to rise. When the inner circle filled, the vessel had enough clearance to sail and thus avoided the possible damage by rocks or trees. We read about the prophet Noah and the flood in all three Holy books. It describes how they built the vessel and saved animals of all kinds.

Was Gobekli Tepe the location of Noah’s Ark? Maybe it was, or maybe the Ark was in another place at another time. But what is obvious is that Gobekli Tepe was built by people who were certain that a big and widespread flood was coming and were told to make serious preparations, not only for themselves but also to avoid the extinction of animals. God knows the best.

Interesting that the WEF have interfered with the excavations.

I didn't think about keelstones. That's a fascinating theory. The other one is that it's just a sundial calendar, clock. We will but i hope we dont forget about this place.

It is interesting because Noah's ark is known to have landed on the mountains of Ararat, which is, TURKEY for God's sake.

There are other sites in the same region. However this is the only one found until now has animal carvings. The other ones are similar structures but look more like made for people. We will know better when the diggings are finalized.

The idea is intriguing, even if theoretical, it does have a unique perspective. I do hope we can find solid answers to our mysteries some day.

Also, weren’t there a bunch of trees planted all around the area? I’m no archaeologist, but trees is the last thing you’d want to plant in an “active” discovery site. Roots tend to take over.

Or it was built after the flood to commemorate God destroying the world but saving alive some of every species. I think the ark was too big to sit on those pillars. Let's see, 8 people on the ark and a few hundred years to build the ark, means not a lot of people involved in construction, why would they waste time carving and cutting stone blocks. But I can imagine their ancestors doing this.

Wouldn't it be easier to just build those boats right on flat ground?

Burying that whole area so completely, by hand would take a substantial workforce decades. I do think it was built to commemorate the flood, that would soon bury it and the Ark is nearby in the mountains of Ararat, just as the bible says. The boat shape is there. It is the right dimensions. It's got petrified plywood and mineralized iron rivets in boat formation. The anchor stones are also found nearby. Megalithic pillars would be a perfect launch platform, and stable to build on. I think this place was commissioned by God to be uncovered in these last days, to confirm His own Word.

Ugh... Ok, so how come there are no discoveries of ship building artifacts discovered around / near the site if it's a ship yard?

Very creative hypothesis. Needs a lot of new discoveries to be considered. Interesting anyway.

I do hope this isn't the only video done to support this hypothesis, because I'm in....meaning. I hope this could be true and want it to be...in a way. It feels true, but feelings don't count, but think of how AWESOME it would be if it is....OUTSTANDING video by the way.

Zecharia Sitchin's Books tries to explain our mysterious history. He uses scholars'translated Sumerian Clay Tablets and Ancient Megalithic Structures around the World to connect Sumerian Civilization and Hebrew Civilization. His books tell the story of the" Neflim and Anunnaki" who came to " Eridu/ Earth" 500, 000 years ago.Ancient people around the world have stories of " A Great Flood".

at mt Ararat, there is the so called found Noahs Ark, between gobleki and mt Ararat you can see water eroded dunes just like wat you see at the beach, and then you have lake van Golu, which contain high salinity (sea, ocean water)

what an idea. i agree, in ancient times there were more technical use than temples. Or the temples were technical for teaching people like universities.

But there are older ancient areas. of possible in Austria archaeologist discover an area near Viena which is 60Tsd. They found pottery figures, ingraved plates, strange contents.

The idea that the ark that Noah built was to big to fit onto these pillars.

You have it right to a point. Great thought though. I believe the flood was because of the idol worship at Gobeklitepe that was before the ark.

Thank you for this! It's being desecrated as we speak. What a terrible shame.
Even going as far as to say aliens did it.
