You probably shouldn't perpetuate this idea that the annual number of deaths from flu vs the number of deaths so far from Coronavirus provides perspective. It's not a valid context. If Coronavirus becomes as endemic in the American population as flu we will likely see upwards of half a million Coronavirus deaths in the US. That's the appropriate perspective. That's the apples to apples comparison. Comparing current Coronavirus deaths to annual flu deaths only helps to drive complacency, which in turn causes people to be less cautious, thus increasing the risk of Coronavirus becoming endemic here.

I’m so tired of people saying not to worry, because 80% of people will be fine. My son is medically fragile and has a compromised immune system, my parents are elderly, and I work with adults with Developmental Disabilities. The percentage of people I love who could die from this illness is unthinkable. 20% is not just a number - it signifies real people.

This is misleading. Mild cases must be forcibly quarantined and treated properly! Self quarantine does not work as it could cause family transmission. Not to mention people aren't as self-disciplined as u think.

Trump needs to act. Worry about whose numbers go where later. Move the high risk people off and away from the infected. Quarantine them. Move the infected to treatment centers that are prepared. Move the rest into quarantine groups for higher to lower risk. Cancel all flights and cruises for passengers. Only Supplies. Close schools and all major events for at least 1 month. Give permission for CDC to do their job and get out of the way!
