In this video, I discuss how the Let It Be album was supposed to be called Get Back and a way for the Beatles to get back to their rock roots. No overdubs, no edits and no orchestrations. Glyn Johns, the engineer for the sessions put together this album as the Beatles originally envisioned it.

Nice breakdown! I only wish Youtube would allow for the actual audio. I would love to be able to hear these mixes side-by-side to be able to really hear the difference. Been loving the Johns mix!

And for that little talk you have yourself a new subscriber.I love hearing someone elses take on Beatles music. For me Get Back is great to have and even nice to listen to as an alternative, but also for me I can hear why it was never given the green light for release at the time.It just wasnt strong enough. It never actually sounded like a finished album at all.And i know the remit was no overdubs and all that good sounding stuff but the truth is that they never actually got these songs up to a standard where they could have gone out with no overdubs or orchestration or choirs. They were too rough and unfinished to be released without overdubs, orchestration and choirs and I think the release of this album now proves that.Phil Spector ultimately did a grand job with what he was given and unfortunately for Glyn Johns Spector was given the frredom to add new overdubs and subtract and chop up the music Johns wasnt given. Johns was given very narrow instructions, where as Spector was given a wide open array of options and he delivered. But still I never really thought this album was great.I loved a few of the songs on Let It Be but i never loved the album Let It Be because it still felt like an unfinished hodge podge as far as i was concerned.Every song felt unfinished to me and thats because essentially they were unfinished and when you actually hear what Spector was given to work with you hear what a great job he actually did.And with Giles Martins 50th Deluxe Remix of the main Phil Spector Let It Be album it now sounds like a finished album to me.Where Spector made all the right decisions for mixing and overdubbing the album in the first place it still sounded like i said a very well mixed and produced but un finished album, Giles has just took that and just tidied it all up and some cleaning up of the edits and timing of overdubs and made it sound like it was meant to be that way and wasnt just done that way to hide the fact it was never finished. Now it sounds like it is a complete and finished album.

Thanks for reading that long comment.I never intended to write all that but felt myself wanting to put in words what i felt about both Let It Be and Get Back in light of the new releases and ultimately after hearing you put into words how you see it.Thank you very much for sharing your video and allowing me somewhere to share my feelings about THE BEATLES which is something I just dont get to do as Im the only fan in my family and non of my real life friends are fans either, so I only get to express my BEATLES feelings online. And now Ive found a new channel.Thank you very much.Craig
