Led Zeppelin self titled, released in early 1969. I was only 7 when this came out, so didn't discover it & Zeppelin until a few years later, so it's hard to imagine the impact this must have had. The power & intensity of the music is incredible, a hard-hitting blend of blues, rock, folk & 60s psychedelia. It's their bluesiest album, with a couple of Willie Dixon songs, also includes live favourites Communication Breakdown and Dazed and Confused.

#7 Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols (1977)
Debut and farewell. It couldn't be any other way for these shouting prophets of chaos and anarchy. It has classics like "God Save the Queen, " "Anarchy in the U.K." and "Pretty Vacant" but my favorite song is “Bodies”.

25) Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced (1967)
In 1967 Rock 'N' Roll music changed forever at a very fundamental level. Rock 'N' Roll went from being a mostly popular medium of jingly accessible three-minute songs to being a true form of artistic expression, and in so doing became Rock as we know Rock today. The catalyst for the change had been the release of records such as The Beatles Revolver, The Beach Boys Pet Sounds and Bob Dylan's Blonde On Blonde the previous year, but everything broke wide open in 1967 with an entire collection of albums that changed music forever.
Are You Experienced was one of those albums.
There is really no point whatsoever in trying to explain the greatness of this incredible debut. It has already been explained over and over, and I don't believe I could add anything new to the discussion of what's behind the genius of Jimi Hendrix. All I can say is that almost everyone I know loves this album upon first hearing it. It's got such an alluring quality to it that's rare in music. I have yet to find anyone who has put more talent and passion into a record than Jimi puts into this one. His incomparable guitar playing has been examined, studied and copied to the nth degree.
All the greats are here - "Purple Haze", "Manic Depression", "Hey Joe", "The Wind Cries Mary", "Fire", "Foxey Lady", and so on. Some of the greatest Rock music ever envisioned.
All three of Jimi's studio releases are classics, but I tend to favor this one slightly more than the others. It might be the fact that this was his debut, and I really am in awe of how Jimi did something this miraculous his first time out.
For the minority of people out there who haven't heard this album, you need to asap, because it really is a work of genius.

Perhaps, in some particular order –
7. Led Zeppelin (1969) - And the world was shattered and recreated in their guise.
Killer tracks: Good Times Bad Times, Dazed and Confused, Babe I'm gonna Leave You, and Communication Breakdown.
8. Queen (1973) - Fewer bands have come out the block with such vibrant pomp and pageantry. The stuff of rulers, indeed.
Killer tracks: Keep Yourself Alive, Great King Rat, My Fairy King, Liar, and Son and Daughter.
9. Iron Maiden (1980) - Di'Anno provides punk soaked attitude and the band deliver musicality in spades.
Killer tracks: Remember Tomorrow, Running Free, Phantom of the Opera, Charlotte the Harlot, and Iron Maiden.
10. Are You Experienced? (1967) - Jimmy Hendrix and the Experienced - Hugely influential and iconic.
Killer tracks: Purple Haze, Red House, Fire, and Foxey Lady.
11. Black Sabbath (1970) - And on the eighth day...
Killer tracks - Black Sabbath, The Wizard, and N.I.B.
12. High Voltage (1976, International release) - AC/DC - The birth of one of the most feral, filthy, raw rock and roll bands to ever grace the earth, and it's 'effing glorious.
Killer tracks - Live Wire, High Voltage, It's a Long Way To the Top, The Jack, and TNT.
13. The Doors (1967) - The seeds of modern American rock were sown here.
Killer tracks: Break on Through, Crystal Ship, Light my Fire, Back Door Man, and The End.
14. Holy Diver (1983) - Dio - a heavy metal masterpiece. Campbell provided the chops, and RJD delivered the mastery.
Killer tracks: Holy Diver, Stand Out and Shout, Don't Talk to Strangers, and Rainbow in the Dark.
15. Van Halen (1978) - the legend of EVH was born!
Killer tracks: Runnin' with the Devil, Ain't Talkin 'bout Love, Atomic Punk, and I'm the One.
16. Kill Em All (1983) - Metallica - Fast, raw, and one chord away from frenetic riffage; this album punches as hard as an unbridled Mike Tyson.
Killer tracks: Whiplash, The Four Horsemen, Seek and Destroy, and Jump in the Fire.
17. Appetite for Destruction (1987) – Guns n’ Roses – Undeniably, one of the great debuts.
Killer tracks – Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, Sweet Child O’Mine, and Mr. Brownstone.
18. Grace (1994) - Jeff Buckley - Unique and in tune with the sublime.
Killer tracks: The Last Goodbye, Mojo Pin, Hallelujah, and Grace.
19. The Blizzard of Ozz (1980) - Ozzy was a mess, almost down and out. Enter Daisley, Rhodes and finally Kerslake, and the metal messiah was reborn.
Killer tracks: I Don't Know, Crazy Train, Mr. Crowley, and Suicide Solution.
20. Rage Against The Machine (1992) - Kinetic, angry, antagonistic, and torch bearing - akin to a kick in the face.
Killer tracks - Killing in the Name of, Bombtrack, Take the power back, and Bullet in the Head.
21. Ten (1991) – Pearl Jam - Organic, authentic, and clean of the musical trappings of the decade before it. They were the voice a new generation wanted.
Killer tracks: Once, Jeremy, Even Flow, and Alive.
22. Rising Force (1984) - Yngwie J. Malmsteen - Neo classical taken playing taken to 11.
Killer tracks: Black Star, Now your ships are burning, and Icarus Dream Suite.
23. Audioslave (2002) - It pummels!
Killer tracks: Cochise, Gasoline, Show me how to live, I am a Highway, and Like a Stone.
24. Out of Myself (2003) - Riverside - When the opening track on your debut album is twelve minutes plus, that's quite a statement. My favourite export from Poland post the paper-clip.
Killer tracks - The Same River, Loose Heart, Reality Dream II, and The Curtain Falls.
25. Backstreet Symphony (1990) - Thunder. Executing classic blues based hard rock with a dash of cheeky chappie ala Danny Bowe's golden voice.
Killer tracks: Dirty Love, Higher Ground, She's So Fine, and Backstreet Symphony.
26. The Legacy (1987) - Testament. Hits harder than a freight train full of anvils.
Killer tracks: Over the wall, The Haunting, Burnt Offerings, C.O.T.L.O.D. and Apocalyptic City.
27. System of the Down (1998) - Aggressive, uncompromising, and borderline bonkers. This is the musical equivalent of stuffing your mouth full of moondust and then chugging a can of pop.
Killer tracks: Suite- Pee, Sugar, Spiders, and War?
28. Skidrow (1989) – Bristling of piss and vinegar led by a singer who was a teenage girl's wet dream.
Killer tracks: Piece of Me, Makin’ a Mess, and Midnight/ Tornado.
29. Night Songs (1986) - Cinderella. Distinct vocals and hard-hitting riffs that far exceeded the sleazy glam look.
Killer tracks: Push Push, Somebody Save Me, Nobody's Fool, and Nothin' For Nothin'.
30. Blue Murder (1989). Sykes without borders delivers an expertly executed middle finger to his former employer.
Killer tracks: Valley of the Kings, Riot, Blue Murder, and Riot.
31. Psychotic Symphony (2017) - Sons Of Apollo - The perfect mesh of songcraft and musical flair.
Killer tracks: God of the Sun, Coming Home, Alive, and Lost in Oblivion.

Black Sabbath - we're on hallowed ground here, but like Pete says, some albums you know SO well that you just don't need to play them very often...this is one of those for me. The importance of this debut cannot be overstated as it's a (the?) crucial step in the development of the type of music we all love. The sheer heavy power of tracks like The Wizard, NIB, Evil Woman, Warning and Black Sabbath just never gets old...maybe I'll play it this evening after all!

#7 for me is Ted Nugent – Ted Nugent. This debut is filled with timeless gems, many of which could still be featured in a set Ted might play today. Highlights include: Just What the Doctor Ordered, Hey Baby, Motor City Madhouse, Snakeskin Cowboys (one of my favorites), and the classic, Stranglehold.

# 7 JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE Are You Experienced? *1967* Hi friends. When I had gotten this debut after owning Axis Bold As Love way back in the day an d owning a mono copy that is worth a lot that I played the hell out of and darn don't have any more. Neither the debut vinyl of Hendrix but do have Cd of the debut with extra bonus tracks. And Axis Bold As Love vinyl Stero and a Cd of that albums as well and Electric Ladyland that followed on vinyl and on CD no question ne being a Hendrix fan then and still today and miss him and what he could have done more of. Thus the other posthumous albums with what all is been left and out there kind of fills a need and itch of having as well of Hendrix. Of course miss Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell as well. The 3 of the trio that blew the doors open for others to try to be able to follow afterwards. JIMI being as so hard to match since he was the best to those that believed it, From Purple Haze and Third Stone From The Sun and Foxy Lady Fire I Don't Live Today and all the other great great album it's a 4.5 -5 from a legend. I remember as i do I have a vinyl French import international edition. So that is cool too. So there is my pick for this day as we keep on for debuts with still some to go. Pte with The Doors debut great choice. I have some Doors albums. Take care and love hugs and prayers to all.
