Nio is back in the game. A major taxi deal in Norway, $1 billion Abu Dhabi investment and most importantly doubling sales to ~20K. With its new volume brand due next year It will have all future swappable market outside China to itself!

Anything positive on Nio or Xpeng will often get turned into a negitive naritive on this channel. Sam you have stated Nio and Xpeng are going bankrupt over 1 year ago selling your stocks at all time lows to buy more Tesla stock which makes up most of your investment portfolio last i heard.

Tesla sold less than 9k cars in August, gross margin slightly more than 17%. BYD more than 274k cars, gross margin more than 20%. BYD has many new models lined up. Tesla almost none. Looks like BYD is winning the race.

Everyone is saying that China is collapsing. How can a collapsing country still able to produce advanced EVs? How can the Chinese who are starving to death still able to afford buying EVs?

There is a common tactic in the Chinese auto market.
Before the new car is about to go on sale, a higher pre-sale price is announced to promote the sales of the old model. When the new model is actually launched, it will start selling at a lower real price.
Tesla also used this trick in the Chinese market.

If you look at their financial reports, Tesla is probably realizing that they are not winning the price war that they are crediting for starting.

Interestingly, in the H1 2023 China Automobile Brand Quality Ranking list, Deepal is at the last place, while BYD and Tesla are in the lower middle of the ranking among the 34 listed brands.

It is now cheaper for BYD to make BEVs than for GM, Volkswagen, and Toyota to make ICE vehicles. In two years it will be cheaper for Tesla to make BEVs than for GM, Volkswagen and Toyota to make ICE vehicles. In seven years it will be cheaper for GM, Volkswagen, and Toyota to make BEVs than it is for them to make ICE vehicles.

I Think the new model 3 Will sell extremely Well in Europe where sedan sells are still good. I Think even world wide model 3 sales Will increase its just a much better car. It also looks amazing!
