That C minor 7 stuff in the beginning is so close to the intro of Molasses by Hiatus Kaiyote. So awesome.

Coincidentally, I spent the whole week doing just this. Bob Reynolds has a lesson in his virtual studio called "Don’t Stop At The Top: Unlocking 7th Chords" where he wrote the 1357 but extended it like Roslin is doing here. 1 3 5 7 9 11 13.
I copied him and put the paper in front of me played all the combinations over a Bb Rhythm Changes track finding all the different sounds. Throw in some chromatics and got some cool improv. Pretty much got weaned of the paper by friday. It's good to memorize the chords.
I think it's a good musical way to develop chordal playing and breaking away from scale playing. It's a different mindset.
