Something that’s also very helpful is to look up the BPM of a song! Finding a bpm to fps converter online can be tricky but once that’s done, it’s easy to just set up your file with that fps - then you just have to remember every beat is like.. 8 frames, 16 frames, or every 32 frames depending on whether or not it’s a 1/8th or 1/4th note and etc.

Of course changing fps might not be doable depending on the project or if you’re collaborating with someone. I also wanna say I’ve been following your channel for a few weeks and the amount of helpful tips you’ve been putting out is amazing!! Lots of these have been a a great reminder for me as well and it’s great seeing you get from start to finish with your work :3

Another way to do this is to look at one instrument, usually the drums, in the song, and pick a key repeating audio point which the animation centers around. Major movements occur when this note takes place, for example in this song there is a cymbal sound which repeats which would have been a good spot to block out key movement like hip sway.
If you pick a sound like this you can actually see it in the audio graph, which makes it much easier to animate because you know exactly on the timeline how much time you have inbetween the sound.

this is great advice for beginning animation meme creators! but is my youtube glitching or is the audio off sync lol? neither the 1 or the 2 show up at the right moments, and the tail's ground impact gets way out of sync once you added the bigger hits. i'm a drummer so it's driving me insane. can no one else see it ?
