This summer, I have been on location traveling through Europe, Africa, and the Middle East! Right now, I'm in Belgium, and I am having the time of my LIFE! I heard mixed reviews about Brussels. A lot of my friends thought it would be boring. They obviously don't know how much complete and total joy I find in delicious food, because Brussels has PLENTY! In this video, I try Belgian frites, what we call French Fries from Maison Antoine. As a bonus, I also try Lychee-flavored Fanta! Take a look and let me know what you think in the comments!

I am from Belgium and we do not only speak French. In Brussels not all people speak French, they also speak Dutch. In Flanders we all speak Dutch. And in Wallonië everyone speaks French. That is were the cliché of "French" fries came from.

I just want to clear up one thing. I knew when making the video that the frites I was trying were Belgian frites. When I put the translation on the screen as "French Fries", it was because in the U.S. we often use "French Fries" as the generic term for fried potatoes. But yes, this video is all about BELGIAN frites! 😄

In Belgium we eat it directly with fingers 😉
I love the "sauce andalouse", it is my favorite. Next Time You can Try "samouraï". Hot but tasty !

You're in Belgium and calling it French fries? And Belgian fries are standardly eaten with mayonaise. Most Belgians make their own homemade mayonaise though. The jarred mayo or those in the fries shops isn't as good.

uhh, you could've probably just ordered in english lol, at the very least in flander roughly 80% of us speak english fluently.
in brussels i think it's slightly lower at liek 60 to 70% and wallonia.... let's not speak on the walloons and learning languages...

don, 't ever try fries in the french part of belgium or in limburg. it's nasty. try it in antwerp, where the stoofvlees isnt some kind of hot syrup
