Hello, today I want to go over how to write in the epic genre using some examples from existing film score music. This style of music is popular due it's emotional pull and is synonymous with superhero movies, battle scenes, and stories that are grand in nature. From listening to plenty of scores from the Dark Knight, Oblivion, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men, Avengers, Transformers and more, I've come up with a few key points that they all share. So for part 1 of this tutorial will focus mainly on the key points and some tips to write in this style.
