I laughed thinking of the guy you bought the PC off of, closing the door and hearing "computer secured" as you walk down the hall way lmao!

Low cost builds like this are a great way to cut down on e-waste as well. Plenty of office PC's can be turned into low budget gaming rigs with just a few cheap upgrades!

I recently picked up a Dell xps with a 9900k, Gtx 1080, 32 gb ddr4 for $200. It’s in my shorts!

Dell XPS is where it's at. I look for these on a daily basis. They typically come with bigger PSUs and a more standard layout for upgrades.

There are tons in your local market place. Just search for "dell computer" daily. Most of the people that have these do not know what they have. XPS is not a term they are familiar with.

One XPS I bought for $20, just said "computer" in the description LOL.

1650/1660 / super is the perfect match for 4th/6th gen prebuilt. You have to keep in mind that the XPS was a premium product. It is not your typical office PC.

Also look for lenovo 6th gens for cheap.

Thanks to your videos I’ve been browsing my local FB marketplace a lot more and I just picked up an XPS 8900 with an i7-6700 and GTX 1070ti for $65. I was pretty happy.

btw no need to look for full screen in the settings, you can just press F11 for full screen or FN+F11 if your FN-Lock is turned on doesnt work

I’d like to see what you do with further upgrades. I’m pretty impressed with what you have here.

HDD life… 58k hours is kinda up there. The most I have seen is 100k. But typically 20k is typical for an old drive.

It shall now be retired to just backup or cold storage.

For years, I used an Optiplex 3010. Put a Xeon 1320 and RX 580 8GB in it.
