Debbie was absolutel icon for millions around the world

One aspect of Debbie not often mentioned these days, she was a part of all genres back in her day. She was just as likely to be found with punk rockers like Johnny D or Joey Ramone, as she was with pop/rock artists like David Bowie and Mick Jagger, or New Wave/Age musicians like David Byrne and Devo, and there is 100's of pictures of her parting it up with Rock and Roll legends, Saturday Night Live alums, and she must be listed as one of the originators of Rap and often found intermingling with new artist of the day in clubs & studios giving her one of her best songs, Rapture. One of the few women to upstage Joan Jett and Pat Benatar, Wilson sisters, Stevie Nicks, & Donna Summers. She loved art, creativity and good times, which is why disco naturally fit her, and yet didn't define her.

One of the few people, who could hang with John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd after hours and is still alive today to tell you about it.

I heard somewhere that Debbie Harry was the most photographed woman in the world in 1978.... very easy to believe ! And that voice, pure heaven.

Debbie Harry was a total dreamboat and knew it! I remember an interviewer asked her if she thought her beauty was a detriment to being taken seriously as an artist, and she said "Hell no! It's good for business. What can I say? I'm a lucky bitch!"
I love that attitude.

Fun fact; Debbie Harry’s earlier Punk look inspired Harley Quinn’s look in Suicide Squad. Per actress Margot Robbie, they were struggling with Harley's look, till costume designer, Kate Hawley, brought in old pics of Debbie. If you search Debbie Harry Images, there’s a series of her in a torn “Vulture” T-shirt (taken 1976 for Punk Magazine, by photographer Chris Stein). It’s pretty easy to see where Harley’s “Daddy’s Lil Monster” outfit came from.

They came out of the New York punk scene, and had their first hit (this one) in disco. Check out "One Way Or Another, " which is closer to their punk roots, then "The Tide is High" for reggae Blondie and "Rapture" for rapping Blondie. And if you really want to go deeper, try "Island of Lost Souls" for calypso Blondie.

would suggest a listen to Roxette's "Listen To Your Heart" or "The Look" and also Linda Ronstadt's "Blue Bayou" which certainly shows her off to be one of the great voices
