This is a RE-UPLOAD of an existing video from 2023 - I decided to correct a few errors I felt were necessary. So if you've seen it before, that's the reason you're seeing it again.

#gijoearealamericanhero #toyhistory

This is the history of G.I. Joe A Real American hero during its vintage run - the 1984 year. These action figures took the industry of old toys by storm in its heyday.

Witness the third year of this action figure franchise with characters such as Roadblock, Firefly, Storm Shadow, as well as Zartan and a Hooded Cobra Commander and more! The Baroness is here as well as the first carded edition of Duke. We've got lots of great vehicles like the Killer Whale, Rattler, Vamp Mark II as well as the Stinger and some small playsets as well.

Please note this is a RE-UPLOAD from a video aired in October of 2023. I had fixed the following very key items:
- Spirit was holding the wrong bird in the original upload
- The Vamp Mark II shown in the original video was the '88 mailaway, when I had intended to show the '84 one.

Both are fixed in this video.

I started getting GI Joe toys in 1987, but as a collector in recent years I think that '84 was the best year of the original ARAH run. An incredible line-up of figures, especially on the Cobra side, and some amazing, iconic vehicles. Thanks for the enjoyable video, regards from Melbourne, Australia.

I enjoyed some of these for sure, idk if I ever had the v2 mail order Cobra Commander. Some of the mail order vehicles I got work featured either so I'm looking forward to the next video. These ones might have been too early for me.

I think I got Joe toys in this year. I don’t remember getting any in 83. Loved the Skyhawk! Still my favorite GI Joe toy. Favorite figures were Mutt and Junkyard along with Spirit and Freedom. For Cobra it was definitely Firefly and Storm Shadow. They would double as a Spider-Man figure for me in my imagination. Zartan was really cool too. I had the bivouac and I think a gunner station. My dad got me the little toys. I would earn my own money the following year and get bigger ones and lots of figures.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I still have the vintage Zartan figure. Sure, I have the re-issued figure, but that one doesn't change color in the sun. BTY, I can understand his hatred of the sun☀, I burn in the sun🔥 myself. Maybe because I'm a quarter vampire🧛! LOL!
