Eyesore or not, the town owes the man money. They demolished a house illegally.

Ok so let me get this straight. The neighbors really believe he isnt owed compensation for his home being destroyed.... If the house wasn't in a condemnable state but needed repair it's still worth something. The homeowner could also make the argument that the house was going unde repair and renovation. A lawyer could have easily presented that as a case for restitution.

Bet the neighbors wouldn't be saying that if it was their house. Who's ever responsible for this owns the owner a new house.

Their property, their rights. Cities shouldn't be allowed to demolish anyone's house unless there are extreme mitigating circumstances.

LOL, crack house or not that was someone else's property, the people just don't want to pay for it with their tax money... But really who knocked down the wrong home, the contractor or did the city do it? Contractor needs to pay up, they screwed up it sounds like it. BUT someones house was destroyed weather it met everyone elses approval or not and we all know if it was their shack that got squashed they too would want a mansion to replace it LOL.

Yeah I'd say they owe him a house as well or money. It may not of been in the best shape but it could of been sold to a flipper who would of made it live-able. even a crappy house as long as the foundation it's on and as long as it has good bones can be fixed back up.

To the people in this video: You should all be in jail for forcing a demolition crew to tear down the home of an innocent person instead of going after the true criminal who switched housing numbers in the first place.

Did no one realize that a lawbreaker who lived right in their neighborhood illegally switched address numbers and got into trouble for doing that as per the news report? Had they watched the news, they would've realized that they targeted a law-abiding citizen instead of going after the lawbreaker and brought him/her/them to justice.

TBH if u own anything and the government destroys it without your permission, you deserve to be paid for it. If a citizen did this to a house, they would have to pay for the damage they caused and go to jail
