Love this! I'm 73. When I stopped dying my hair about a year or so ago, I realized I am finally able to be myself....with flaws, I've gained confidence, a lilt to my step, and a sense of humor. I can greet folks in public with authenticity and hopefully brighten their day as well as my own. Thank you for this video, Sandra.

Hi Sandra, I just turned 60 this. year and am disabled. Along with other health issues, I have broken the vertebrae in my spine on several occasions, big fractures, and micro fractures. Sometimes even getting hugged too tight can open up a compression fracture. I appreciate your words so much about beauty in brokenness. Because of having such wonderful women in my life as examples I have tried to imitate their grace under trial and bear the pain while being determined to hold on to those things that make me unique. It is a constant test. I have found that if I give in to the negativity and fall into the pit, it is a hundred times harder to crawl out than it would have been to walk away from the edge in the first place. Thank you Sandra for always encouraging authenticity, beauty and wisdom. Wisdom is an older woman's crowning glory and gift to the world.

Your talk today struck a chord with me. I’ve reached the age of 83 and am finally confident in myself. I’ve accepted my flaws, it makes me unique. My granddaughter made me a tshirt that says, Be yourself everyone else is taken. Thanks for the affirmation

This is the third time I watched this in two days. I’m 79 and still have difficulty accepting myself, “worts and all”. I’m going to take this to heart and grow to be a more confident person. Thank You so much. Maybe I will feel calm tonight when I go to bed.

Sandra, this reminds me of Leonard Cohen's words "ring the bell that still can ring, forget your perfect offering, there's a crack in everything....it's how the light gets in" These words meant so much to me the first time I heard them while I was going through tough treatment for late stage peritoneal/ovarian cancer at the age of 59. Well, I lost all my hair (and I mean all) and it didn't all come back but what did, on my head, was grey and, as by this time I was coming up to 60, I decided to embrace it and I love it. I am 6 years into remission now and, even though I' left with a lifelong condition as a result of my cancer surgery, I couldn't feel more grateful to be here.

Isn't it freeing to accept yourself for how you are today? I don't try to go around frumpy, but I polish up what I have and go enjoy the day. I got here by the sweat of my brow, my "age spots" tell of countless hours working and playing in the sun, my "wrinkles" say I made it through a lot of trials and tribulations and many of my friends are in the ground now, I am pressing on. The wrinkles around my eyes and mouth are from the smiles my pets and the few humans close to me have brought to me. Many years ago before I was a seasoned citizen I actually wrote about my scars and how proud of them I was because they proved I made it through that trauma and they tell a story. Thanks for your message today.

It has taken me 57 years to find my confidence and to realize I am enough and love me. Allowing My great hair sparkle and aging with grace both inside and out and not fighting the journey is key. Thank you Sandra for encouraging all of us. I cherish you so much. 🙌🏻🧡🍑Lisa

How we all need to hear today’s message!!! I have always allowed the desire for perfection to stop me from doing so many things that definitely would have enhanced my life. As I’ve aged, and so thankfully, I am finally learning to let go and just do many things that I’ve always wanted to do!!! What is that old saying?…beauty is in the eye of the beholder; well, I definitely think this can also apply to perfection!!!

I tend to seek out weirdos. My favorite pieces of furniture are the old wooden ones that I bought used and are full of scratches and crayon marks because they have stories. It's sad that we waste so much time reaching for a perfection that doesn't exist. Sandra, thank you for putting this reminder out into the world ❤

You are a true inspiration to us 'women of mature years', and I love Tuesdays because all of us will have a few minutes out of the week to spend with you. Your perspectives are genuine and your delivery precious and heartfelt. Thank you, dear one ~

I always look forward to your great words & encouragement! We are stronger than we think, smarter than we think, and happier than we feel when we live realizing imperfect is ok! Agreed being authentic is the best to be! ❤😊

Sandra, I am 78 and I design and make jewelry. I do bead weaving and PMC and when I discover a mistake I just smile and recognize nothing is perfect including myself. Imperfection is reality. Real self is recognizing when we know that we do not have to be perfect!

Accepting our imperfections sets us free. We no longer have to waste time, energy and money trying to conform or to please others. I think that this only comes with age and wisdom. I'm glad I have reached this stage in life where I can just be myself.
