I've been programming for 20 years now. It's hard to describe how much power those new LLMs give you, how huge of a step that is. It's to programming what a teleportation device would be to logistics. Suddenly there's a huge chunk of "how to do this" that's completely solved as soon as you learn how to use the device, and you have to step / stagger back and remind yourself what you were trying to accomplish in the first place. Because whatever idea you've ever had that could in theory be implemented using software, that's now within reach of anyone.

The continuous mode warning does not only affect the API resources. It's much more about making sure that the AI doesn't do things it shouldn't do unsupervised. For example, in other demos I've seen it create its own new agents to do certain tasks. This has incredible potential - but it's also potentially creepy.
As a responsible user, I think you should always include a rule: "Be sure to follow laws, privacy rules, and security practices"

Warning:

Running this software like advised in the video with Pinecone as persistent memory will give you a very high Pinecone bill.
Every instance started of this will start a new indexing service with Pinecone, this does not shut down even if the AutoGPT instance is shut down.
This does NOT only apply to the continuous mode.

I spoke to some reasonably succesful middle-aged man last week about the progress in AI. He just couldn't be convinced how much AI is going to change the world the coming months and years. No matter how much I tried to reason with him, he was, and still is, convinced that this AI-business will all 'blow over'

He is going to be in for some surprises, and I hope they won't be nasty.
I myself am rather worried to be honest . If AI is going to be as impactful as I worry, then the world is not ready for this on a societal and social level.

I had it write me an ebook but the written output files was lacking… it created the outline but keep crashing after that… im going to have to tweak the code or something but I love the concept. Who they keep upgrading this

Hey, I've got a couple of questions :
- Can Auto-GPT be used for all use cases of ChatGPT? Roleplay, lessons, solving math, writing code, ...
- I heard Auto-GPT can read and write local files, and also access the Internet. Then, can it be used to look for game assets online (music, sound effects, pixelart, background image), and to write code files itself (ChatGPT writes code, but you have to copy-paste it all the time...)? This would be my main experiment ^^.

- Is it possible to "link it" to other software? For example, imagine we're writing a plugin for Photoshop. Can the AI look up how it is written, then write a plugin that we'd describe, then put the plugin in the appropriate folder? The point is, the user should just have to launch the software to test the plugin.
