Install Auto-GPT Locally (Quick Setup Guide)

This is a video that's by request... I talked about Auto-GPT in a past video and people asked me to show how to install it. So here's a quick step-by-step tutorial on how to install it. This is a pretty niche video but I'd like to have it in my library of videos to share with others later.

I think though that if any steps require something that needs to be purchased such as an API key, it should be disclosed at the beginning of the video. This would avoid disappointment on the user's end and will grant the user the decision to keep watching the video if so desired. Otherwise, keep up the great work, dude. I do semi continuous mode… when it ask me to press “y” to affirm, I use the command “y -number” so if I put in the y -5 that means it’s the going to continue with 5 runs as if I’m pressed the “y” 5 times before it stops and ask if I want to continue

It tends to loop and hallucinate still, and it's not as useful if you don't have gpt4 api access.

so im new to this and didnt know i needed git to use that command. so i asked GPT-4 why the command wouldnt work and it walked me through step by step of installing git, setting the PATH like i did with python, and writing a clone script to import the librarys. all in a matter of 15 min. im amazed at how much more helpful it is than googling it. not to mention it debugged all the errors perfectly.

AgentGPT does spin up quick with just getting your API key in place. It should be noted that you only get 25 spins before it tells you the agent has been running too long and shuts down to save your wallet. Regardless, it works well.
