Should DPF be Cleaned? #shorts

You may have never cleaned the DPF of the exhaust system like this.
Once the particulate filter is clogged, it will increase fuel consumption, the engine will overheat and the repair cost will be expensive.
Moreover, if you remove them, this is considered illegal because the exhaust can pollute the air.
When the signal from the exhaust sensor to the ECU is distorted, this effect can make the car run less smoothly.
Will drilling holes through it completely solve this problem?

The government should enforce the manufacturers to make them easy to clean or replace like replace an air filter .

Fun fact: the Goverment enforces DPF systems on diesels and makes them illegal to remove.
However Government owned diesel vehicles have all the DPF systems removed from factory. 😂

Solution; Only buy diesel trucks made before 2003. No EGR or DPF.

It's illegal because you will increase the life of your engine and the greedy corporates don't want that.

It might be a sugestion to build them in stainless steel with clamps to remove them and get them cleaned easely

We need to get rid of all this garbage& go back to simplicity…😂

If you take the DPF, like I did truck averaged 30% better fuel efficiency. That should mean I'm polluting less.

EPA norms stipulate that EGR is meant to reduce NOx emissions. Due to EGR, the whole intake gets clogged with carbon build-up, which will lead to choked intake manifold that will effect the turbo functioning, eventually catalytic converter and DPF will get clogged too. If the sole and whole purpose was to reduce NOx, just spraying water mist into the intake will also reduce the combustion temperatures which will reduce NOx. Also, the combustion chambers will remain clean as any carbon inside will break away.

Gutted mine and remapped. My emissions at test station where 15% lower than when it left the factory.

Getting rid of it all together is what’s going to fix the problem on all cars it should have never been manufactured and put on any car

Cut the top open, smash the filter, weld it back up, pay the remap guy to turn off the inputs for the DPF.
EASY.

DPF on any diesel engine should be illegal!!!!

Scania, which manufacturers a diesel engine that meets U.S. emissions standards without using DEF or DPF, yet are NOT allowed to be imported into the U.S., wonder why?

DPF's should be manufactured so that the ceramic elements can be replaced. Cleaning current sealed DPF's with chemicals defeats the object of cutting pollution.

I've had my 2008 euro3 for 10 years now because it doesn't have a dpf and I don't want the hassle/ expensive repairs of a later car that has a dpf (2009 onwards).
The annual emissions test as oart of the UK's MOT is literally a visual smoke test (rev the engine and look for soot innthe exhaust 😊)

Lots of cars of the same model as my car but had DPFs fitted are already scrapped because the continually failing DPF made them economically unviable.

Unless you drive big mileage with minimal short journeys & cold starts then its just better to buy a petrol car than a diesel. The cost of ine DPF service/ clean out would cancel out any savings made in MPG in diesel vs petrol cars.

They've turned reliable diesels into overengineered nightmare machines.

I got mine mapped out dpf was killing the car runs like a true diesel now perfectly 😂

These systems should by law be required to be built in a way to where they can be opened and cleaned easily to prevent engine damage and extra pollution and low MPG.

When a massive container ship travels halfway around the world in one month.Does the same pollution as 5 million cars in five years

I did this to a '90 model Chevy Cavalier which only had a pre converter and my car drove so much better and in town, avg 70 miles per gallon. Could get 90mpg on the highway.
The only reason I gave it away was bc a man at church left his wife & two small children.
So I completely rebuild the engine, after 600k miles. I buddy who owns a repair shop repainted it. I had a interior man who used to work for the bodyshop redo all the interior. I loaded the trunk with oil and filters with oil rings, and wiper blades. Not to mention I had new struts put in all around due to the body shop conversion. It used to have shocks on the back. Also people at church got her so many more things she needed. The tint was lifetime and they said the would take care of her.
If not for that, I'd still have that car.
I'm looking for an '80's truck to do the same thing too. Except I won't the outside to be worn. I'll fix it up to be nasty looking. But when I put my blinker on. Ppl will get the hell out of my way bc the know I can't afford insurance.
My cars now, they try. Their nothing new but they're garage kept and taken good care of.
