Back when I was a kid, my dad would play this to make me fall asleep. 10 years later, after I have completely forgotten about this song, I scroll past this video and remember, "Hey! A Perfect Circle. I remember them!". I put this in and completely indulge myself in nostalgia and good feels. For that, I thank my father.

This song makes me think so much of my mom, she was abusive, and used to use phrases like I'll be the one to protect you from your enemies and your choises, or they don't care about u like i do, i keep u safe from truth or choice... She also isolate me, and for years i have the feeling of being more a pet than a person

I know damn well about all the interpretations (addiction, government, everything in between), I’m not stupid, but still I used to sing this to my cat Todd while I held and swayed him around. I sang it out of love. He would purr so damn loud and drape himself over my shoulders. He was such a sweet, clingy mama’s boy. I did everything to keep him happy and ignorant of how bad the outside world is. All of my cats are rescues, so they’d already had a taste of suffering, sadly.

Closing in on two years since he passed, first time listening to this since then. I could save him from everything else, except his own body. I missed this song, but it fucking hurts.

A really, really wonderful man played this as I fell asleep on his chest tonight, and maybe I've only known him for a short time but this feeling of safety, comfort, hope, and contentment is making me .. maybe .. fall for him, hard. It's a terrifying, beautiful, awful, incredible feeling.

I love this version of the song far more than the remix known as "counting bodies like sheep to the rhythm of the war drums." I think the tune is just so much darker and smoother.
