I'm listening to this after the 2024 US presidential election and having watched Gladiator 2. I wish the media at large would do history the justice of presenting it as it was without their virtue signaling. I also wish the academia were honest in looking at not only history, but also most items under study without political prisms.
The irony of the current time is, all of us are bound to do great and terrible things under the influence of our current culture, just like those whom we are so quick to judge and whose statues we like to tear down, like Rome or Robert E. Lee or Churchill.
