This is the most successful entertainment product ever made and Rockstar couldn’t just give us the upgrade like so many other studios have. The greed is unbelievable.

I like your idea of measuring/expressing load times in Doom levels.

One thing I'd like to add about the haptic feedback that didn't get brought up on the video is in gta online, when your at the night club, the closer you are to the speakers in the club blasting music, the more intense of haptic vibrations that the controller gives off. And you can literally feel the detail of the bass produced and it feels as if you put your hand on the speaker yourself. If you like haptics I reccomend checking out your nightclub in the new ps5 version

Seems like an oversight for Rockstar not to increase Anisotropic Filtering to at least 8x considering that it improves the texture blurriness with a very low impact on performance.

The low LOD and AF settings are a bit disappointing. At higher resolutions these lower settings really start to stand out.

One big point you missed out on is that they seemingly have decoupled the (driving) physics from the frame rate. Before, the frame rate had big impact on what times you were able to achieve in races, this difference is now gone in the PS5 release

Love the Max Payne 3 soundtrack. Would love a PS5 remaster of that game.

I don't understand why AF (anisotropic filtering) is always skimped on. I've been putting it at 16x for as long as I've been able to. The performance hit is practically non existent compared to the visual upgrade. Same with texture quality. Unless you are out of vram, high res textures are not a big impact at all yet the visual difference is huge.

I'm even more excited for your video, than I was for the port.

The Max Payne 3 music paired with this analysis pretty nicely

I demand all game loading times from now on to be measured in Doom levels completed.

It was a fun touch using Max Payne music on a GTA video, from a dead franchise to a over milked one. Props to Mr. editor, one of the best soundtracks out there.

shoutout to the use of all the Max Payne 3 music in this

I’ve noticed recently just how improved the reflections are in the fidelity mode. They drastically change the look of the game especially in night time scenes. There are many reflections from lights that I’ve found to be totally missing in the performance modes, and made the game feel much more detailed.

Would've loved to see the Xbox 360 or PS3 ports in this. If you see this Alex, please consider a 'og to new g' video comparison.

Nothing was expanded and very little was enhanced. That's so Rockstar Games...

I remember another game that had lots of temporal artifacts was Saints Row 3 Remastered. Every car in the game had a headlight trail due to the temporal anti aliasing.

Just what i was expecting from Digital Foundry, the video even exceeded the expectation. Great job as always.
