My Sons made a Nujabes compilation CD for me before my 2009 combat deployment to Afghanistan. His music got me through as I would come in and unwind after many dangerous missions. RIP…

Nujabes makes a day at work feel like a cannon episode in anime

Just listen to this. The legend passed away in 2010 and he was already in 2020.

I remember finding Nujabes through samurai Champloo, which I in turn found through cowboy bebop, it was over a decade ago when I was just 13. He helped me a lot through high school and opened me to a new style of music, I never forget looking him up after he helped me so much through his music, only to find he had died not that long before I discovered him, it was heartbreaking. I would sometimes listen and cry at the thought of never getting to thank him for something he never realized he did, save me. This was around the age I started showing serious symptoms of depression and I always think of the lyric from Eminem's "stan" ( I know the irony of using that song as a reference, but I'm not obsessed or anything lol) which was "I can relate to what you're saying in your songs (which was nothing... yet it was the sounds that spoke to me) so when I have a shitty day I drift away and put them on", before I started therapy, before medication, before talking to my family about what was really going on inside me, this is what calmed me when I got to too dark places, and I will always be grateful for that. I just thought of him randomly today after years and decided to listen and remember a simpler time and thought to share my story about him, if you read this thanks for letting an old soul reminisce. Rest in peace Jun.

I will never forget when these songs helped me get through a difficult period of my life 15 years ago. He was a humble man who inspired many other musicians in his lifetime, and gave life many music genres like lo-fi. We cannot say enough thank to him!

30:14 this one sounds like two things, at the beginning it's like an old blues boogie song talkin about my buddy was out one night gettin drunk and he called from a pay phone asking for a ride, I asked where he was and he said he was at the corner of walk and don't walk. I said I know where that is I'll be right there. Then it gets into some Gil Scott Heron type shit. That's a damn good track.

Been a fan of lo-fi for a decade and never even knew him. It's like seeing the roots that feed the tree.

Nujabes really was a ahead of his time. I read articles about the stress he felt to remain in the eye of the public. RIP

Somethings are just beyond age era or time itself. Nujabes was most probably a miracle loaned to earth for a short period.

Nujabes music comes to me like melancholies from the past, to the sorrowful present, and to a brighter future that is only envisioned through dreams of hope from hardships we've endured .. Jun created ; a what seems like perfected atmosphere through his music for our self reflection sake of trials and tribulations . The harmonies come in like a cold winter gust of wind, only to allow us to further reflect on the new spring ahead, and yet again blossom as when the Earth does. The only differences we have is our names, our talents & gifts . This music is Universal, and it speaks to us all in a very similar way... Almost like a lullaby a mother gives her child.. Wish everyone peace & love on their journeys..

It’s been one week since I’ve seen my friend(crush) in person. She’s genuinely an amazing person and I was developing feelings for her for months. I wanted to protect her smile and laughter. But last week I learned she already had a bf. It bumped me out and it still sort of stings to this day. Now I have to accept that she won’t be in my longer much longer. Music is what’s been able to sooth my stress and Nujabes is inspiring me to create my own art. Now I’am glad she’s part of my life. Whoever you are reading this, I hope you find peace in your life.
