Importing CSV Files into Excel

This is a tutorial on how to import CSV files into excel. I recommend using the "text import wizard" because it lets you work with "delimited" files. CSV files are delimited by commas whereas .txt files are separated by tabs.

your video helped me get further than i could on my own but i am now wondering how it works with two separators a comma and speech mark, when i do it your way i end up with a lot of blank columns and some with 3 commas in, can anyone help?

I have imported a csv file into excel and followed the instructions as above. The columns are separated BUT I cannot then add up the value columns. It reflects #value!. Please help. I urgently need to import bank statements from my bank, (which are csv) into excel so that I can create a cashbook, but it doesn't help if I cannot add up the columns. Thanks so much
