2022 Kia Carnival Review: Minivans are cool! | CarGurus

Kia calls it a multi-purpose vehicle, or MPV. But even if you call it a minivan, the new 2022 Kia Carnival is seriously cool.

The Kia Sedona has been replaced for the 2022 model year with the all-new Carnival. Sporting SUV looks but keeping the minivan practicality, this new vehicle delivers on all front. Technologically, it's hugely impressive, and the optional VIP Lounge seats in the back offer next-level comfort.

Great review. I can feel myself aging because I really like this van.

Note to Kia: Stop putting the rear turn signals down at ankle level. Oh, and less purple in the UI.
Otherwise it’s a winner.

Awesome car! All I need is a plug in hybrid version with AWD here in the US and I am sold.
Also, while the blind spot camera is a nice touch, it negates the benefits in a foggy, rainy environment so I would rather prefer a blind spot marker on my rear mirrors like it is on my Honda Accord.

This guy does great reviews. And this “mpv” is now the class leader...

Obviously a huge upgrade from the last generation Sedona. Unfortunately, I think the absence of an AWD and a hybrid option will prevent the Carnival from moving out of also ran status in sales among the tiny category of minivans remaining in the marketplace. But for those prepared to forego either of those options (e.g. potential Odyssey buyers) the Carnival should be especially appealing, especially among those prepared to shell out more than $40K for a top trim version.

If you need a roof rack, you have to get sx trim. Because structurely the sx has different parts to avoid the top mount air bag. So you can't drill to make hole for any after market rack. Toyota allow even on lowest as options.

I've never been so enthusiastic about a Minivan... much less a KIA MINIVAN!

I like ventilation in the second row seats. It gets hot here in the Southwest.

Love seeing a larger size man do such a review. Bigger applies to all but smaller applies to less people, only since if it fits a big fella it definitely fits smaller folks.

Your head almost hits the roof when seated in a second row. Is it true across all trims?

I'm single and this makes me want to get married and have kids. Well, truth be told, I just want the VIP reclining rear seats. Damn...lol

I am giving this vehicle serious thought. Providing I can get different rims, I hate those black rims! To me they cheapen any vehicle they are on.

A lot of the world has been calling them "MPVs" for a long time. It's nothing new.

which driving mode is the most comfortable to sit inside Carnival?

Do you know if you can order or build a carnival with all of the SX prestige options and the SX 8 seat package? From what it looks like online you won't get the sunroof and other features. I've asked numerous people at KIA and have gotten different answers.

I’ll wait for reliability scores in a few years then decide.
