excellent strain gauge info. what about temperature compensation?

"Resistance of the wires can change depending on the length of the wires." Incorrect statement wire resistance depends on wire material, diameter, kink level, temperature, ... Better statemet, the wires add resistance to the loop compromising the shunt. Besides this explanation could have been done in 2 min or so.
