Logical Fallacy #7 - Appeal to Spite - #shorts

In this series I am going through all of the known Logical Fallacies. Trying to give an external and an internal example of each one. The way they work in debate with others and how they work in internal narration with ourselves.

This one is the appeal to spite, attaching an argument to a person or group that is already disliked in order to make the argument less appealing.

I feel like this argument is very common in politics nowadays. Instead of actually disproving the argument, a side heavily associates it with people they hate.

What’s the difference between this and an ad hominem fallacy?
