This comedy is so layered .. you will definitely enjoy it more if you hail from a Pakistani family .. some of the things Mr Khan says are so characteristic of an old father figure of any Pakistan family .. the way they love their morning papers (or watching TV news bulletins), the typical way they would shake their heads at every news and then proceed to lament about the “good old days”, the way their observations are often rooted in bias/prejudice they’re not even aware of .. lol and the way they keep getting corrected by their politically/socially aware kids .. this is such a typical Pakistani household and every episode is endearing to watch!

Well the history behind West Indian, Pakistani, and Indian people go back generations due to the British empire and to honest we get on with each other in the UK. There are some who disrupt and try and create tension. When my father passed away about a week later my next door neighbours whos had only moved in a few months before knocked on our door, they had plates and plates of food. I said you don't have to do all this, they turned around and said we are neighbours, we have to do this, I must say it put a lump in my throat. If the wife see's coming home from work at dinner time she happily gives me dinner, even if I have eaten i always take it because i can see shes proud of her food, which is always very good. Their a Muslim Lebanese family, lovely people.
