For those of you who want to know about the summons mentioned at 8:02 :

- Gemini Monters are summoned as regular monsters, but while on the field they can be summoned again to activate an effect. This counts as a normal summon, not a special one, so it takes up your one summon for the turn.
- Contact Fusion is a type of Fusion that requires all monsters involved in the fusion to be on the field, but it does not require Polymerization or a similar card.
- Transformation Fusion is a type of fusion that turns one monster into another: think of it as a one-monster Fusion summoning. These require their own special Spell cards instead of Polymerization.
- Accel Synchro Summoning is like regular Synchro Summoning, except both monsters involved have to be Synchro Monsters themselves.
- Delta Accel Synchro Summoning requires at least three Synchro Monsters instead of the regular two.
- Limit Over Accel Synchro Summoning is the same as Delta Accel Synchro Summoning, except it's got a different name (which it got from the anime).
- Double Tuning is Synchro Summoning, except both monsters need to be Tuner monsters.
- Dark Synchro Summoning has you _substract_ the level of a Dark Tuner monster from a non-Tuner monster. The resulting number is called a Negative Level: this is the level at which you can summon a Dark Synchro Monster as if it were a regular Synchro Monster.
- XYZ Evolution exists in two forms: either you overlay the XYZ Evolution monster over a specific monster (mentioned on the XYZ Evolution card) or you use a Spell that lets you overlay the XYZ Evolution Monster over an existing XYZ monster. In both cases the Materials still attached to the original XYZ Monster (as well as the monster itself) attach to the XYZ Evolution Monster as Materials.

And that should be all of them... as long as nobody asks about Phantom Synchro, Cross XYZ, Overscale Pendulum, Integration Summoning or Dimension Summoning.

I only watched because of the pendulums

OR you could be just like Kaiba and Yugi early on in the series:
Screw the rules and summon whatever you want and however you want!

How to pendulum summon: Vomit on the board and walk away

Decided to make this video as a fun project, turned out ok. I know that i literally talk about the bare bones of each of the summoning types, as well i'm not even that savvy on pendulums still XD but i hope you find some enjoyment out of this video regardless. Let me know what you though and leave any additional info on each of the summoning types below!
ALSO What is your favourite summoning type and why?!?

Now, from all the added forms of summoning:
Synchros, I can get behind. Pretty simple really, you just do the same as an on-field ritual summon but the ritual is instead a Tuner-typed monster you control and you don´t need the synchro-monster to be drawn since it´s extra-deck.

Xyz, alright. It´s basically just another idea of the same concept rituals and synchros follow, with more focus on monster-level, like rituals. Also, once again it´s extra-deck, so no searching for Xyz-monsters required.

Pendulum. Pendulum seems so over-complicated and convoluted in a way that makes normal players never wanna use them.
I heard someone say "I tried a pendulum-deck once in the OCG, and it just went and played itself. My friend was asking what I did, and I only answered I don´t know." This summons (heh, summon) up perfectly what Pendulums are all about.
Confusing your opponent to a point where he doesn´t know when to activate a possible counter, OR, if he knows about them, just spamming multiple monsters and doing stupidly long card-combos with effects that most of the time result in an OTK.

I like how in the anime characters always summon a monster in face up defence position. Cheaters.

Apart from regular conditionnal Special Summons, Synchro summon has always felt like the best designed summon to me.

It came out at a time where lower-lvl monsters had few reasons to be played (if not « this guy is a whatever-tribe, so you need to run this to do whatever with the other whatever-tribe guys in your deck »), does make sense in term of board and ressources (you’re not dumping your whole hand into a ridiculously broken guy, but rather piling up your smaller guys into something that challenges the board), and incentivizes decision-making and complex lines of play (since you usually have different versatile Synchro monsters at each level and can pull off nice lines of play if you can recur your smaller guys). So well designed that it actually worked pretty immediatly without Konami having to release absurd support or cheat-into-play cards like with Ritual and Fusion.

Xyz seems fine, though I’m less excited about « how do I get 2 5-stars on the board ? » than « how do I manage to assemble a 8-star guy with my 3-stars guy and my 2-stars tuner in hand ? »

Pendulum just seems dumb. I imagine the pendulum-based decks are more intelligent than they seem and build a board or various monsters with synergestic effects rather than a bunch of mid-sized hitters, but still : either your game is 80% based on your opening hand, or they’re continuously releasing broken tribe-based tutoring effects to carry such a level of hand-dumping.

It also seems pretty clear that Konami’s original game design has been thrown away long ago considering how normal and tribute summon seem like a joke today.

Ah, the memories... I used to play this game a lot when I was a kid and I stopped when the synchro monsters came out.
Sometimes I regret having spent so much money on it and I think about selling my old cards, but then I remember all the fun I had and how much I cherished them, so I'm keeping them as a memento of the good ol' days.

When this is uploaded half a week before a new summoning method is announced...

I can still remember how my first duel looks like (with a bro):
Bro: You got two level 4 monsters in your field. I lend you a xyz monster so try xyz?

I : I overlay those two mosters to summon No.39 Utopia...

Bro : Nice try. Bottomless trap hole.

Jotaro summon:
Once per duel if your LP are lower than your opponent, you can summon your bare hands in attack mode. If you do that, you can do the ORAORAORAORAORAORA in the face of your opponent, take his/her cards and automatically win the duel.

I am actually a 12 year old boy with ADHD and I love yugioh. Before watching this my only experience with rules was from season 1 and half of season 2. Then I watched a couple of gameplays and found all about these new methods, originally I wanted to read the rules of the website but with my ADHD I knew I couldn’t pay attention. So I looked up on YouTube how to do these things and found this. I thought the title sounded funny so I clicked on the vid and found it to be more helpful than I first thought it would be! Thank you so very much for your help! May the heart of the cards be with you!

I just got back into duel links and this is a great vid to help with the new special summons.

Jeez. They made YuGiOh way too over complicated for the casual players. Maybe that's why duel links is popular right now. It was smart of them to go back to a more simple YuGiOh.
