This was a 10/10 video. I hope this reaches everyone looking to get into Yugioh.

ALSO, idea to you, you can do this once every year OR 6 months to help people get into the game as efficiently as possible :)

Only playmat a real man needs is the hot sidewalk.

If you are new to trading card games, it is a general rule to buy individual cards instead of packs. You guarantee the cards you want and will save money in the long run. I know this advice was mentioned briefly in the video, but I want to strongly emphasize it.

For The Crimson King Structure Deck, do not buy Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon, as that card is currently forbidden in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. Instead, if you are committed to playing the deck, I recommend buying Bystial Dis Pater.

My friend stopped going to locals and playing yugioh irl cuz he felt he was being priced out and couldn’t keep up again. I’m glad things are turning around this year with more competitive structure decks and staples; much needed reprints in megatins and rarity collection bringing down the price of staples. This was an exceplent and much needed video and I hope it reaches those who want to return to the game or pick it up from scratch!

If you're on a budget, I feel like you can just skip the playmat entirely. You just need to know where to put things on the board and that's it.

For anybody who wants to build some budget decks that aren’t from a structure deck; here’re a few options! Got plenty more other than these too, but figured these are a good start for archetype hunting.
• Superheavy Samurai
• Ninja
• Marincess
• Floowandereeze
• Fluffal
• Plunder Patroll Adventure
• Abyss Actor
• P.U.N.K.
• Springans
• Mathmech

*What Yu-Gi-Oh cards and products would YOU recommend for a new person to buy when they start playing Yu-Gi-Oh for just $100? These are my personal recommendations, but there's plenty of others, too!*
By the way I just noticed at 4:30 I meant to show Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend (to help with a Red Dragon deck) and NOT Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon! Was editing very fast. The latter card is literally banned lol

I think the branded yugioh sleeves are fine for extra deck cards, but not for main deck at all. I use the gold pride sleeves for my gold pride punk extra deck and it goes well with the playmat

$11.99 is still much better compared to the old days when the first Yugi/Kaiba (Later Joey + Pegasus) Starter Decks ran for $17.99 - $19.99 + tax depending on where you bought them.

I'm pretty sure you used to make videos like this years ago so I'm glad you're actually able to put some stuff out like this again since, some of the products Konami decided to put out are actually budget friendly for the most part

I can confirm coming back into the game with 3X Traptrix decks is a great start. And a great addition to its extra deck is actually in the Rarity Collection set, Time Thief Redoer, and is super cheap as a single.

Another great staple from Rarity is Baronne De Fleur, which is a great generic synchro and super cheap now. Especially considering it used to cost close to $50 even just a few weeks ago

For Ultra Pro card sleeves, I don't necessarily recommend those, get their other sleeves (same brand) unless you're going full budget. I'd recommend their Eclipse sleeves. The quality stands up to or rivals those of the Dragon Shields and are fully opaque (great for tournaments)

This is exactly what I did. First deck with all staples and competitive but cheap core, bought x3 structure decks and splashed staples from first deck to those decks. Red dragon archfiend and traptrix r rly fun and extra decks are cheap relative to the more expensive tiered decks.

Right now might be one of the best times to get into yugioh. The quarter century set really made lots of staple cards available to new duelists for way cheaper than before. The structure decks have great staples too. I was gonna build a deck for the first time literally days before the set dropped. I was looking at a Baronne De Fleur… it was 25$ on tcgplayer.

I was like “damn I guess I just gotta bite the bullet and get it. Can’t get 2 of them tho.” *added to cart*. I decided not to spend so much money on a card like that atm tho.

Lo and behold, days later, the set dropped. Baronne De Fleur was around 2.50$ on tcgplayer! Now it might be less than 2$. This logic applies to a lot of other cards in this set too

haha @4:28 idk if I'd wanna buy Chaos Ruler for the Crimson King deck seeing as that card is unfortunately banned in the TCG 😅

Great video guys, this is quick and easy to share with a friend. Ultra practical and easy to follow, not even 10 minutes long. I love it!

Those Traptrix structure decks have been the ultimate blessing. My buddy who had no interest in playing finally decided to try the game out when he learned that for only $30 he could take on full power decks. I still see them in all kinds of stores so it's always an easy recommendation to pickup. Plus, the inclusion of good insects, plants, generic traps, and staples from the HAT era mean that it's easy to pivot into a new deck type if you're enjoying the playstyle. I'm sure 5 years down the line we'll see lots of high rated players citing that as the deck that got them first playing Yu-Gi-Oh.

"You lose, alot." There is the answer.

You can have fun though, depending on your locals scene.
