Systems Engineers draw from many engineering disciplines and backgrounds and use an interdisciplinary approach to solving complex problems. Systems Engineers are involved in a wide variety of projects, from spacecraft and chip design, to creating large software projects and developing cutting edge technologies that can be applied to a number of domains. Systems Engineers often work in interdisciplinary teams with expertise on specific components such as electrical, software, or mechanical engineering. I completely agree with the gentleman. Engineering is not about using math just for math's sake. It's about solving problems using a variety of tools including math and physics.

I think this is also somewhat related to embedded engineering(hardware and software aspects) except it's more about seeing the big picture and what the end result is going to accomplish. I'm still super interested in learning about systems engineering and I think this video summed it up pretty well. Nicely done!

The initial focus on physical, product systems engineering is one of the key challenges - the full system includes design of the enterprise system to effectively support development of product and service systems. So often this sits outside the physical engineering discipline set, but requires close integration between the enterprise/ business system development and product/ service. The problem-space for systems engineering sits beyond the engineering of the product, to engineering of this plus the supply network. So often the success of complex system is hampered by organisational practices and thought processes. This is touched on later in the video. It's a good STEM video for people looking to understand what's needed beyond their initial engineering discipline boundaries.

im doing a new course called mchanical electronic systems engineering that basically combines all of these diciplines so hopefully in the real world this would make problems solvind and developing a lotm easier
