Durability is what is going to determine whether this is a tool or a toy.
History suggests to me that it will be the latter.

I think it's professional. The cabinet guys like me will definitely appreciate it. my only concern really is the length of the head. I lean towards 12v drills for how compact they are.

Skil quality has really improved from what we knew a few decades ago...this isn't your dad's Skil...it's becoming your grandpa's Skil again. I'd suggest people check out their main line SOLIDLY prosumer or value pro IMO. This just looks fun to use and I'd bet it lasts...looks like an upgrade over what Worx made (they have one of these flip drills, too, but are more entry level from what I felt in the store).

Gimmick for weekend hobbiest. If i'm doing multiple things I roll out an impact and a drill . Or two impacts or three impacts and two drills whatever it takes and with the quick release it takes just the same amount of time to pop the tip out and put it in a quick release drill bit

I have Milwaukee, Skil, and Bauer tools. I use Milwaukee for work and all for other projects. I recently picked this up and worked on it with a closet remodel and while I do like all of its fun features, the wiggle and play of the bits are too much and make me angry. Ill give it another go because i really want to take advantage of the flip and magnetic rail. I also like that its 12/20 v compatible because i had all 20v batteries so this was great

take it how yall want but Skil has impressed me with the power core line up, the 12 does perform very well, the batteries are where they get you considering most of the tools are sold without the batteries, unless it's a multi tool set, they still only send one battery even then however I learned my lowes has a great deal, buy a 2 pack of batteries for 8 bucks and get any of the tool line up for free😅 so I regret buying my first 2 extra batteries on Amazon, but the speaker is great doesn't drain a battery though a solid 12 hours of use i still have 3 bars battery, the Impace has multiple speed setting as well as a button to leave the flashlight on, which is the coolest light on any impact I've ever held, the typ C charger with every tool is a bonus tho, also can fully charge my phone 2 time off of one fully charged skil battery, running c to c, really great for the modern day skil, performs well, I think this flip drill might just be my next interest when I buy my next 2 batteries😅 crazy how that works 80 bucks for 2 batteries and pick up a free tool, of buy a drill or impact set and get a free tool, but no free batteries so remember always buys the batteries and get the free tool! 😅 truly tho I'm impressed with ever skil tool I own and have somehow become a fan of the brand like Pokémon I've gotta catcher all, and batteries are my pokeballs, but I also keep in mind every battery charges my phone and I get a new charger and block with every set purchased so I have c to c chargers for anytime I need em so if the tool seems cheap because of the price alone remember it won't come with batteries so do the thing!

This would be pretty sweet to have for making counter sinks and pilot holes, then having an impact along side to drive in screws. 🎉

I think it will be useful for many trades. A lot of comments are folks that think all tools are for what they do or home diy type. Not everyone is standing 500' in the air screwing a nail into something.

I just made a bunch of shelves out of 1x6 joined with 5/16 dowels. The dowel jig doesn't have a spot for an 11/32 drill bit. This would have been great, drill the 5/16 hole with the jig and then flip around to 5/32.

I'm doing it a bit decorative, the dowels are from the craft aile and true size rods. Not the slightly undersize dowel pins in the carpentry section of the tool aisle.

Honestly. Very handy for light woodworking. Even mediums

Cool for around the house for the wife's spur of the moment projects

It's cool, but they make bits that can swap between drill and drive. I like the Montana ones

I can see a place for this tool, I can't tell ya how many times I have drilled a pilot hole before driving a screw. If nothing else, it would be a great tool to keep in the house for those little quick jobs.

I like it. Agree, durability is the key with this.

Just picked one up, both the collets have alot of back and forth play with the bits inserted. Do you have this problem too?

I saw a contract worker using this he says it is easy for him to use when he doesn't want to change out drill bits, he says he hopes they come out with a impact ready version.

It would be great to install hardware and hanging doors. I would love if DeWalt made one since I'm on their platform.

I'll wait until they release one with an impact and hammer drill in one.
Awesome idea. Unfortunately someone else is going to do the better version before skil.

Gonna disagree with others. I think in particular trades this would be super useful. I need a bit for aluminum and Phillips to drive easily stripable screws. Along with carrying screws, the bit, and stainless hooks and eyes. This would cut down my time swaping bits or walking around a job site and doing all the drilling first and another lap for driving.

Would be even better if it had a hammer mode.
