Introduction to Ayurveda || World's Most Ancient Medicinal System

Thousands of years ago, enlightened sages and rishis meditated in the Himalayas searching for cures to disease and unhappiness within human civilization. They were gifted the answers, downloading in deep states of meditation. The immense, detailed science they brought forward is still being practiced today...and that science of life is called Ayurveda in Sanskrit.

You might have started to hear about Ayurveda and the doshas via yoga studios or the natural healing path. Ayurvedic medicine is only recently spreading in the West, although its practice in/around India spans back to time immemorial. So what exactly is Ayurveda? What is it based in? How does it heal people? This video will cover for you a brief of Ayurveda "101" , the basic concepts and history behind the oldest medicinal system in the world, which still thrives today.

Keep in mind, this is just a brief overview. It is a very complex, in-depth science which I am only skimming the surface of. To learn more about all the components of Ayurveda, make sure to subscribe and follow my Ayurveda playlist. I also highly recommend reading Charaka Samhita and ”Ayurveda and the Mind” by Dr. David Frawley. 🙏🏻 Blessings everyone!

I have come across ayurvedic ideas several times in the past and a bit more so recently, the thing that often throws me is the fact that much of it is in a new language. As an english speaker diving into new concepts (at least for me) one of the hardest things to embrace is the language and new words around new ideas. I don't know if this holds true for other english or western philosophical thinkers but if so it would be great to have a simple english version. Not to disrespect the culture it came from, not at all. I struggle so much with other languages it would just help me. I can add the new words later as long as the principles are in english words. I don't know if you can accommodate this, I look forward to this series if you continue it though. It's definitely something I want to know more about.
On a complete side note, I would love to speak sanskrit, but in the UK thats probably never going to happen. I have heard that just by speaking it, because of the vibrations of the words that you can heal yourself and your life without even trying. If any language deserves to be universal on earth, if the reports are true then shouldn't it be sanskrit?

Very interesting and helpful!! ✨ I've heard about Ayurveda many times and I really want to get into it! I'm a very very anxious and over-emotional person... An overthinker full of negative emotions. But at the same time I want to spread love, inspiration, freedom and justice.. So I need something life-changing that could bring peace to my being! ✌🏻🙏🏻

Are you going to start a series teaching us what you’ve learned or are learning about the Ayurveda medicine? This would be great bcz there really aren’t many people who teach this.

Thank you Prasiddha! I was just at an Ashram coincidentally during the week a very popular ayurvedic doctor was there giving a week long workshop. I didn't attend the workshop but I attended a free lecture he was kind enough to give to all of the guests one night and it changed my whole perspective on things. I immediately went to the gift shop and bought Ayurveda and The Mind by Frawley and I've been reading it and taking notes. I'd really love to become an ayurvedic health counselor but I dont have any money and I dont know where to begin :( I was wondering if you had any advice or info
